      HI all,

my Emporia installation is working fine but I thought I’d try to put two light circuits through one CT. It should really be “Lights Front” and “Lights Rear” just like for my sockets. I thought the current through the two circuits would add up but it seems to cancel each out a bit, I have a LED lamp on a smartplug and the reading there is right, same bulbs as on my two light circuits. I don’t really care about monitoring each circuit individually, it’s very cramped in my consumer unit so thought I’d just try one CT.

Question, I guess running the two light circuits through one CT simply is wrong, or can I tell the app to sort it out?

Oh great product BTW will probably rate in 5 on Amazon 🙂 !

      Thanks in advance!

Hi, when you add 2 lines in different phases to the same CT they will cancel each other out. Use one 50A CT per leg, and you can find more sensors here at our shop, if needed: https://shop.emporiaenergy.com/collections/accessories/products/set-of-eight-50a-sensors-for-gen-2-vue

Please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to detail this further with you.

Would this work better if the lines were in the same phase?
