HARDWARE: Smart-plugs that are capable of handling an electric dryer (or EV, or whatever). I’ve been using other WI-FI smartplugs for years (Tasmota open firmware, for the win!), and never seen one that could handle a dryer, so this would be unique.
HARDWARE: Smart “plugs” that are intended to be wired inline, eg for A/C, hot-tub/pool, etc.
SOFTWARE: A load-shed function — shut off Smart-plugs on a schedule (eg, when rates are high) or based on usage (eg, getting close to peak demand) — but with an easy option, like a button on the plug (but for something like a dishwasher that isn’t helpful, so in the app would also be needed) to override that.
