I was just curious if anyone else has been using the Emporia Energy monitoring to double check Xcel’s “Time of Use” (TOU) billing? I live in the Denver area, I have PV System and have only been on Xcel’s TOU billing for a couple of months. I downloaded my Emporia Energy CSV files for those months and broke the energy production and usage figures down by hours into the three categories: On-Peak, Mid-Peak, and Off-Peak, keeping in mind that weekends are Off-Peak. I was expecting to find a fairly close correlation with the production and usage figures on my Xcel statements. However, I was surprised to find that in almost all cases, my Emporia Energy values were significantly higher than the figures on my Xcel statements. I’m wondering if anyone has some suggestions or an explanation for the deviation?
