Emporia App Update

Emporia App Version 2.4.17.2417 is available today in the App Store and Google Play! Here’s what’s new:

App Navigation is Easier

We’ve taken the things you use most in the app and put them all in one easy place across all the pages. Just tap the three-line   “hamburger” icon in the top left of the app.  You’ll have instant access to:

• Changing Units of Measurement
• Graphing Circuits
• App Settings (Devices, Notifications, Data Export, Household Info, and Help)
• Live Support Chat

The Home, Graphs, Savings, and Notifications pages are still found in the nav bar across the bottom of the app.

Notifications are Here!

Notifications can be set by going to Settings > Notifications. We have two we are releasing now: Custom Alerts and “Approaching 15 Minute Peak.” You’ll get your alerts as push notifications, plus you’ll be able to look at your alert history on the bottom menu notifications tab.

Custom Alerts

To create your own alert, simply tap Add Alert at the top of Settings > Notifications. You’ll be able to name your alert and apply it to a Vue or a specific circuit. Then you can set usage threshold criteria that will fire the alert when the Vue or circuit meets your energy use for your specified time interval. For instance, to know when you’ve left your oven on: Add a new alert; give it a name; apply it to your Oven; and set the the threshold to fire when it exceeds 1kWh for 2 hours. Set as many custom alerts as you want!

Approaching 15 Minute Peak

Make sure to turn this on for any Vue you want alerts for. Looking at your usage history, the Vue analyzes fixed 15 minute periods (i.e.: 0-15, 15-30, etc) and will send an alert if the current 15 minute period is in the top 3 for the month.
