I would love to see any new feature. It’s been a long time since new functionality was added to the app, many features have been promised here as “on the roadmap” or “in development” but never came out, Emporia staff no longer post here. Can we honestly expect any new functionality or is the power monitoring product just in maintenance mode?

Seems to just be in maintenance mode unfortunately. Some of the app features such as “HVAC malfunction alerts” have said coming soon inside the app for years. My guess would be the original developer is gone.
I’m still satisfied with it though, as long as they keep the servers up. Definitely a great value energy monitor despite having a few software shortcomings.

I’ve just installed Vue and 4 SmartPlugs. They work well, and I’d hoped to integrate them with Apple HomeKit over time as I automate portions of my home.
Reading this and the HomeKit thread, it seems I need to review other vendors. I don’t want to incorporate products that can’t be part of a mainstream home control system. Unfortunate, because I do like Emporia’s engineering.

I don’t disagree about things needing to be more open, but I find it kind of ironic that you complain about Emporia not working with other vendors but you use Apple Home kit, which is notoriously locked down as far as compatibility goes.
Usually the serious home automation users that want everything working togetherwill be running something like home assistant.
Emporia does have an open API I believe?

We are doing our best to build the many feature enhancements on our roadmap – both those requested by our customers and those that will make Emporia the best Smart Home Energy Management service available.
We maintain a very small development team in order to ensure this service remains free to you.
Their priorities are often adjusted to fix critical customer-facing issues or to build features that will have the broadest impact to our customer base.
We will definitely pass your feedback on to the team. We appreciate your support and understanding.
As for API, more information is available here: https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9612779482135-Is-an-API-available-
