We are looking at installing an Emporia EVSE and I am thinking of using 4/3 NM-B as 6/3 NM-B is only rated to 55A, which is below the 60A requirement for 48A. I  have run into issues before with different size conductors and terminals in thepast. Are the terminals on the Emporia EVSE big enough to take a 4AWG wire?

Please note I am runing a neutral for potential future proof.

You can find the specs on the web site.

They also have a large version of the 50Amp clamps

To hardwire the Emporia EV Charger you don’t need a neutral, you need 2 lives and a ground. The neutral can be connected, no problem, but ground is essential! You need to use 6 gauge for hardwire, 4 gauge will not fit in the terminals.

Please follow the install guide and use only #6 AWG copper, 90 degrees C
