Hi
Does anyone know how I can resolve this one? I have a Huawei solar inverter with a connected battery.
This unit keeps on the DC side the solar generation and the charging of the batteries as one. So some of the time the inverter is delivering power to the house (either from the battery or from the PV), and sometimes the inverter is taking power from the house when I’ve instructed it to charge the battery with cheaper overnight electricity (we have a different rate for electricity based on time of day)
The unit is identified to the VUE as a Solar/PV unit, but last night (the first night I have had the VUE connected), it showed that the PV/battery was supplying the house when in fact it was charging – and hence all the numbers are badly skewed.
Can the VUE be set up so that when power is flowing to the inverter its shows as a usage number like any other device in the house and when it’s taking power from the inverter it is shown as a benefit?

I think I might have answered my own question
I think I need to use one of the 200A clamps and configure my wiring so that
Clamp A goes on the inbound from the grid
Clamp B goes on the inbound from the inverter
To do this I will need my electrician to do a minor bit of reconfig in the box
Here in Ireland not like you have shown in your diagrams, things like PV need to be inside the master breaker and inside their own breaker
So I need to be a bit clever and put Clamp A inside the master breaker on the lead to the other circuits but not on the circuit to PV/battery and Clamp B on the feedback from its own breaker
Before I get the electrician back can you confirm?

Here is a diagram showing what I’ve done – and it works
Mains can feed house and/or PV/battery
VUE does not give PV / battery stats but you get that from the Huawei Fusion Solar tool
This is a 250V – single phase system – based in Ireland
(No re-wire needed there was enough slack in the fuse board to accommodate what I wanted to do

cannot edit previous post – not actually working
I thought it would but it gets confused when the PV is supplying more than the house needs so across clamp B you have say 5kw – house uses 3kw should allow clamp A to show export of 2kwany advice if I can get this working ?

With a little bit of fab support this has now been resolved and we have it working as I wish
great job to the support team at Emporia

Hi, Great news that you got this solved. Please can you explain how it was resolved? I’m in a similar situation but the battery is a separate inverter being monitored to the solar inverter.
Thanks

Sorry to say never properly resolved so I returned the unit to Amazon and got a refunded
purchased – https://iotawatt.com/
which is better as all data is locally stored with no need for cloud access -

Has anyone gotten the unit to record two-way power in the .csv logs? In other words, are their negative signs to show power in the opposite direction?
Or, does it just log magnitude and ignore sign?
Tnx

Well, some good news.
I have connected the C phase blue wire to one of the two phases on my 120/240V system.
CT around one of the two 240VAC wires that connect my Enphase battery system (AC in/out) connected to Phase C input.
Went thru the Solar/Wifi calibratio:
https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9557604644631-Reset-WiFi-Solar-SetupSaw no change when I finished, but wait.
The next day there were plus/minus signs on the Channel C data in the .csv files!
SUCCESS. Not sure why it’s such a secret but I got it to work!
