Hi there. I’m a bit of a noob with these things so go easy 🙂
I have a Vue 2 and monitor it using Home Assistant. The integration is easy enough to install in HACS but sadly the data drops out regularly, every few minutes or so. Then it will come online again. From the information I’ve read the issue is on the Emporia side rather than the HA integration, and in particular the cloud based server. Is there a way to integrate into Home Assistant without using the cloud, an API or similar? I have a nice display in HA of all my energy users (via Shelly, Meross, Emporia etc) and the Emporia Vue monitored circuits more often than not display “entity not available”. All advice appreciated. (BTW I’m not going to flash with ESP32, that is beyond my capabilities).

Thanks for this list.
To the OP: There is not and likely never will be a way to interface directly with the unit. Your options are either the cloud API, or flashing the ESP32 with custom firmware (which of course is unsupported).
I do have that issue in Home Assistant where it will drop out, but restarting home assistant fixes it so I’m not convinced it’s on the API side.
But I do know the API has some issues with returning bad data and I’m hoping Emporia fixes this.

At this time we do not have an open API. We understand that some people may want to log and analyze their data locally; however, our software, hardware, and business are developed around the collection and analytics of energy data in the cloud. You can try searching for “API” in our forums here to see what others have done.

I’m a little confused by your response and that link, indicating that there is no public API available, yet the article you linked to then lists several community projects that utilize an API to get data.
Are you just saying the API is not public and you worked with those developers on a special case to get them access?

The open source projects are ‘imitating’ the Emporia app to collect the data. Â This is a workaround until we have published public API.
