I have seen this discussed a lot here and people have gotten angry when the seconds data was reduced to 3 hours vs (I think days?). I personally would like to be able to go back at least a day but would not want to pay a monthly fee (I have 6 vues and growing, use them on my farm, and depending on how they charged could quickly be priced out of usefulness).
Here is my idea, what if Emporia could sell a standalone unit that records the data locally, say to a micro sd card, and this data could be accessed through the current app or maybe an app dedicated to it. Preferably this standalone unit would not require internet connection, just network connection, and could not have a monthly fee.
I know a lot of people will be upset and would rather this be free but I understand emporia has to make money some how or why else even do it. I personally don’t mind paying a fair amount upfront for something I will own and retain control over much more then paying monthly fees. To me the stand alone unit could be priced high enough for emporia to make a profit and it could also make many of us feel better about the longevity of this product.
