Hi all, I have loads I’d like to meter in two separate electric panels.

Is this possible with two Emporia Vue 2s?

My main service panel has the heat pump, the main service entrance, and the solar breaker.

Then there is a sub panel that has my water heat, water pump, stove, and various other lighting and other loads.

The two subpanels are probably 20-25′ apart. Do I just rub CT cables between the two? Or am I better off getting two Vues and installing on in each panel?

      Thanks for your help

Hi! Yes, you can use two Emporia Vue 2 to measure the loads in two separate electrical panels. If the panels are spaced apart, you will need to run CT cables between them to connect the devices. However, if you have the option of installing one Emporia Vue 2 on each panel, this would be a more convenient solution. With two Emporia Vue 2s, you can configure each device to measure a separate panel and monitor energy consumption in real time. The devices can be set up and controlled through the Emporia mobile app, which also provides energy consumption and cost information. When using CT cables, make sure they are properly installed and connected to Emporia Vue 2 devices. In addition, it is recommended to seek help from an electrician or professional installer to ensure a safe and correct installation.

Ok thank you for the reply.

How can the CTs be extended? It looks like they only have 1m long leads, and that’s not enough to run between the two panels.

The second panel is fed from the first one, so with two Vue 2s I am concerned that the readings will be off because the loads in the second panel will be measured twice.
