Hello.
I have installed two Emporia Vue 2 (one being nested under the other one). They work very well to measure my main (Single Phase) and all the circuits except one. On that circuit, there are only wall plugs with two Hubs Philips Hue, one Hub Tahoma Somfy and one CPL adapter. The measure for this circuit are quite erratic, sometimes really too low, sometimes jumping between 0 Watts and 16 Watts (which is the expected value).
Here is the graph (I did clear the data before doing some tests, that’s why the total for November is close to 0)
I am sure it’s not an issue with the Emporia Vue because the measures are still erratic even if :
- I replace the CT 50A sensor with another one,
- or I connect the sensor on another port of the Emporia,
- or I connect the sensor to my second Emporia.
I did also plug the 3 Hubs on a wall plug of another circuit, and there, <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>I have “normal” measures</span> (no jump between 0 and 16 Watt). I have also tried to remove the CPL adapter from that circuit: no change. I have also CPL adapters on other Circuits and values on those Circuits are also “normal”…
I really don’t get why I have such erratic values on that circuit only… Is there any one with experience in electricity who could explain the possible reasons ? Should I be worry about my electrical installation ?
Looking at the box with the circuit beakers, there is no obvious difference between that circuit (Breaker “L” on the photo bellow) and the others, except that the next breaker (“M”) has input on its “line side”. On the photo, one can see that the Main line (top-left of the box) is connected onto a RCD “O”, which is connected on the Circuit Breaker “2”. My Solar Panels are connected on a Circuit Breaker “1”, which is itself connected on the Circuit Breaker “2”. And finally, the “load side” of the Circuit Breaker “2” is connected on the Circuit Breaker “M”.
I did switch off the Circuit Breaker “1” to avoid any influence from the Solar Panels. It didn’t change the measure.
I would really like to get what’s happening. Actually, I was initially investigating why the total consumption measured by the Emporia (on the Main) does not match the value that I can read on the mechanical electricity meter… I know that this issue is not directly related to the Emporia itself. But as long as I don’t get what’s happening, I can’t trust the values displayed :/

At very low usage amounts (< 20W), can be a bit tricky for the sensor to capture that 100% correctly.
In most situations its fine down to 5W (and even lower), but it can depend.
In the screenshot you can see the device trying to distinguish low usage from “noise.”
