First off, I wanted to say thank you for finally implementing this. It’s a useful and important feature and was overlooked for a long time. Hope to see more of these improvements in the future.
It seems like the unit was logging this data all along but just had no way to display it.
I wanted to report a few bugs with this though. It feels a bit like a beta now but I’m sure it will improve. Most should be pretty easy fixes.
1. At the top it says Total Usage A and Total Usage B. Voltage is not usage so this is misleading. Total voltage would make more sense for the label.
2. It does not seem to monitor the voltage for each leg of my 240v split phase service independently. Tapping either of the 120v A or B values opens up the graph indicating 240v. If this is not possible due to hardware limitations than the A and B values should be combined to say “main 240v” on the circuit list page to match what is shown on the corresponding graph link.
3. The last circuit on the list indicates a value of 0 unlike all the others that indicate the same value from the Vue. Clicking the value of 0 causes the graph to open and show the correct value. I do have a smart plug on this circuit which reports its value separately.
4. The graph page does not show decimal numbers at the top as you scroll left and right like it does for the other units such as KwH. Unlike the circuit list page, it will just say 122v instead of 122.43v. Since voltage doesn’t change much, it’s a lot less useful.
5. This one is more of a question, but will the voltage functionality be added to the API as well alongside the existing features?
Thanks

Thanks for the detailed feedback! We passed it along and the team appreciates it! We currently have no status or ETA for your last question.

Thanks for passing this on. Just wanted to provide an update to each question / issue separately.
1. This was renamed to “Voltage_A” (and B) now, so it’s less confusing, but it’s still inconsistent in that there is an underscore between the word voltage and the letter. The other categories like “Total Usage” have a space between words. This is just a minor nitpick.
2. The issue of it displaying the misleading number on the list view is fixed, but when you click it, it takes you to the graph view which still has the incorrect data. This is because A and B are combined on the graph view but separated in the list view.
In other words, after I click “Voltage_B 126” in the list view, it opens the graph view showing 252. Perhaps the Vue 3 won’t have this issue because it monitors voltage on each leg separately, but it would be nice if the app displayed it clearly for both generations.
3. This issue was completely fixed, thank you!
4. The update they did here sort of went the other direction. Instead of making both views consistent by ADDING the decimal places to the GRAPH view, they REMOVED the decimal places from the LIST view. I can tell by the tiny (several pixel) changes in the height of the bars that the voltages changing but doesn’t show up in the whole number because it’s rounded.
5. Ok thanks, it would be great if this was added to the CSV data as well.
6. Something else that would be great would be to adjust the axis on the graph view for voltage so it’s easier the see small changing since each bar is always about the same height.
If you could pass these updates of # 1, 2, 4, and 6 to the developers that would be great. I can provide some screenshots if that would help. Please let me know. 🙂 Thanks again!
