plug-ins do not reduce balance

I have a shed which is unmonitored on the Vue2 and shows up in the balance display. I added plug-ins to the shed for window A/C and frig. I should be able to add them under mains to reduce the balance. if i nest them they just subtract from the nested device. I tried nesting to unused port on veu2 but that didn’t work.
