So, my internet went down at 12:51am but the utility power was up. The per-minute wattage at 12:49am was 3927. The per-minute wattage at 12:50am was 3927 and stayed level until the Internet came back at 3:23am.
It would be nice if the magic box had an SD card for storage.
Also, it would be nice for the app to run, somehow like a Zwave or Bluetooth, so that when I’m running off the generator I can get my readings which are more important at the time.

@waterboyz I’m sure you are aware the Vue has very little on board memory (see below) and when the Vue is powered but not connected to the internet as offline, it will accumulate usage then average that over the period of time it was not connected to the internet.
I like the idea of the Zwave or Bluetooth while on generator. Our device hardware does have bluetooth but not Zwave, I have sent that to the hardware team as a recommendation.
The Vue has minimal local storage so it can only capture granular data for about 5 to 15 minutes or so without an internet connection; however, the Vue also has a cumulative counter that will always keep a running total of the energy used on each sensor as long as the Vue has power. When your internet returns and the Vue gets access to our servers through your Wifi again, the app takes the cumulative values before and after the outage and averages them over the time of the outage. So, if you look at one of those specific hours or minutes, they probably won’t be accurate. They’ll look a little strange because they’ll all have the exact same value.

Adam,
Thanks for the update.
I’m guessing that someone has been tasked to develop the Gen 3. Hopefully, the SD card will be included. As has been mentioned elsewhere, people are using your device for billing and that would be a great feature.
I like the idea of the Zwave or Bluetooth while on generator. Our device hardware does have bluetooth but not Zwave, I have sent that to the hardware team as a recommendation.
I know that Zwave is very popular as well as ZigBee. Zwave does have a license fee and Zigbee does not but both have the place. Adding it and using it would be very inexpensive but offers so many benefits.

Hello, sorry I have doubts on your answer about the offline management.
I’m ok to have an average consumption during offline period, it seems a good workaround. But please check my graph : this is a server with a stable energy consumption.
I lost connection for 4 hours (between the red bars)
If the box would have made an average consumption, I would expect bars closed to my average consumption but here I have a very low consumption.Did I miss something ?
