I am a newer Vue user. I have 16 breakers and all have a CTs, including 2 on the mains, no solar. I have found about 15% of my usuage is assigned to “Balance”. I have 4 22o breakers and they only have 1 CT on each so I have a muliplier of 2 on those. I spoke with Emporia support and Ryan though maybe those 220 lines were unbalanced and thus the mulipier of 2 was not quite right, leaving a balance. I have been watching it closely tonight, monitoring by the minute. NONE of my 220 circuts are currently pulling any power. We have only lights/plugs running. No stove, Hot tub, EV charger, dryer etc. So the problem should not be with the 220s. Right now I am seeing 50-87% of my usage in the “Balance” column.
I have double checked (muliple times) that all CT are in place and every plug is tight. I have 3 circuts that I have not identified what they are used for, 2 have shown no useage.
Has anyone has a similar issue? Any ideas?
I am going to move the CT’s on the wires around just to make sure one is not bad. Other than that I am stuck and could use some insights.
Thanks for your help!

If Ryan didn’t already do it with you then make sure your system is initialized with 3kW of load, oven on and possibly the cooktop. Unfortunately this does mean resetting back to factory. Aside from this, you could move CTs around or turn breakers off and try to isolate the balance. When I set mine up I didn’t have enough load and had screwy readings and the config with sufficient load is what fixed it. This wasn’t apparent to me in the setup by saying 3kW but the technician I dealt with told me that the load is needed for calibration.
good luck

I know this was posted a while ago, but figured I’d add my experience. I was seeing a decent % under balance, turns out three of my CT connectors were not fitting into the device properly, wasn’t quite making contact, at least not consistently. Tech support replaced my primary unit and three of my CT connectors and the issue went away. Now I just see a handful of watts under balance, sub 1% total (with all circuits monitored).

I usually have 30-50W showing in balance (currently it’s 31W or 4%). I have done a bit of turning curcuits off to see where it’s going but have not been able to find it. I have three circuits not monitored (smoke alarms, house alarm, and immersion heater (which is turned off)).

I have this same issue which I will reach out to support about. With all but 3 (monitored) breakers off, I have >130W draw. When I setup the unit, some of the CT leads ‘clicked’ in and some didn’t, so maybe one of my 3 breakers left on isn’t getting properly monitored.

I was able to check by looking at historical data in the Emporia App (did this circuit ever show data?), and in some cases by powering up a device on the circuit and view real time stats. It showed me which seemed to have issues.
