Just installed the Vue2 that replaced an old “The Energy Detective” monitor that I had for years. Was going to replace it with their TED Pro 2.0, but got tired of waiting for the product to release.
Since installing the Vue2, I’ve run into a complete show stopper that will probably result in me returning the Vue2. I cannot reliably connect and view the data! I have no cell phone service at my home location and internet is an ancient 1 meg DSL connection that is up and down more than a yo-yo. I drive into town to get good coverage and check email, install Apps, ask forum questions like this one, etc, but once Im at home, Im effectively off-grid for most modern software and apps.
I was able to monitor energy on my TED device via computer and cell phone web browsers on my local network, with or without reliable internet, but Im not finding that option with the Vue2. I’m seeing online that others have physically modify the Vue2 and installed someone elses software on your product, but thats beyond my talents.
From what little I’ve been able to use it when the internet is working, it appears to be a decent product, but I just cant use it in its current form. Exclusively cloud based software/hardware just doesnt work where I live. I need some form of localhost that I can see with a browser.
