I’ve had a Vue gen II for just over 2 years and really like seeing my energy usage break down and monitor changes. I’ve set up several notifications that let me know if the fridge runs to long, a door is left open causing the heat/AC to stay on, or even if the old air compressor tank starts leaking and it runs excessively.
Recently I’ve gotten several notices of my furnace staying on and pulling twice the amps, even though the house temperature remains consistent. I’m still trying to figure out what is up with the furnace and/or thermostat, but without the Vue I may never have noticed!
I know this forum doesn’t cover HVAC, but to explain the fault, it’s a Trane XV95 controlled by a Honeywell WiFi T-stat. The system cycles normally (fan always ON for humidity, filtration, and circulation, 70W) for days, but 3 times now it comes on and draws twice the power, and won’t shut off even though the temperature seems controlled. In the pictured scenario, I got a notification and remotely shut down the system for a few minutes then turned back on and it started cycling normally again.
