I talked to support on this today, and they are thinking about it too.  But, I thought I’d throw it out here for discussion also.

Here is my configuration:  I have a hybrid solar system.  I’ve seen some other posts on this, but they seem to be at least a year old.  So, my Sol-Ark 15k inverter taps into the feed lines right before the breaker panel, and the main breaker is always OFF.  All of the power for the box goes into the Sol-Ark, where it gets “mixed” with power from the solar panels and batteries (and even the generator).  Then all of it feeds out of the Sol-Ark into a 125a breaker that feeds the whole panel.  So, I don’t have anywhere to put the 50a Vue CT’s.  So, on my drawing (as terrible as it is 🙂 ), I have locations A and B.  If I put the 200a CT in A, then I think the calculations for the “Balance” load is going to be way off.  For example, if I’m actually feeding energy back to the utility, it would technically be a negative load, minus all of the CT’s, it would get a huge negative number for the “Balance”.  Same if I’m just contributing to the utility, the “balance” would not be correct.

The other option would be to put it in the B location, after the inverter, but then it wouldn’t be be aware of the solar contribution and net metering at all.  But it’s possible that’s my only option.

Any thoughts on this?  I’ve not purchased the Vue2 yet, just trying to see if it is going to work.  Not shown in this picture is that I actually have 400a service, so there is a second 200a panel next to this, but it is not hooked to the inverter at all.  So, I will at least get a Vue2 and hook it up to that more “standard” configuration.
