Hey Emporia team,
I use password manager (it’s much safer than generating passwords manually),
Why can’t we use it on your app/webapp?
Thanks

I don’t have an answer for you but can suggest a couple of workarounds.
Some websites need to “see” actual keystrokes in at least one field, so after your password manager fills in the information, try going to your username and backspace one character and retype it. That might be enough. Sometimes you have to do the same for password which is a bit more difficult when you can’t see what’s hidden by the dots/asterisks. In that case, append another character then delete it. This process fixes most sites that don’t like password managers. I have other tricks, but try that first…it’s about 90% effective

Obviously I had already found how to sign in, but why add so much friction?

Well, I didn’t create the site, so I can’t answer that. Many sites, including this one probably, use a package developed by someone else and whoever designed it either didn’t realize it was an issue or perhaps thought it was a security feature. I’ve been using a password manager since around 2005 and some sites need special attention. Site managers don’t always know how to fix it

Sadly even the Android app has the same annoyance, I guess because it’s mostly a webapp in an app clothing.

More likely it’s something called “responsive web design.” A fancy name for sites that adjust to whatever the client is using. I’m using Duck Duck Go browser on an iPad

It doesn’t look very responsive, more like a pure mobile web UI, even from a desktop the usability isn’t great. Having to hold-slide the graph view is not obvious. I’d expect to be able to click any bar from the chart to see the corresponding value.
… but we’re sliding off-topic, the original one was to allow password-generating/saving/autocompleting.

To be clear, I was referring to both the Android app, and this site: https://web.emporiaenergy.com/
