August 30, 2023 at 3:53 am in reply to: Current or No Current Clamp on Emporia EVSE Circuit? #9822 Report AbusescramblerMember
Here is a thread with an emporia support person (jim@emporia) confirming you absolutely can pass two wires in a single cllamp, if they are on the same phase and do not exceed the amp rating
from his answer:
” If they are all on the same phase, then you shouldn’t have an issue, as long as you’re not exceeding 50A.”- This reply was modified 7 months ago by scrambler.

August 30, 2023 at 3:48 am in reply to: Current or No Current Clamp on Emporia EVSE Circuit? #9820 Report AbusescramblerMemberAs far as I know Emporia never said it cant be done.
Emporiacs is just a member as far as we know, and there are many threads that discuss the fact it absolutely can be done, I believe some with the input from Emporia support.
In doubt you can contact support directly.

scramblerMemberAlthough the Vue does not record data locally, it is supposed to keep track of the consumption, and account for it when the connection comes back, so the total is correct.
But the details are lost

You can put a clamp on several wires to measure a combined load, as long as they are on the same phase.

scramblerMemberYou can find the specs on the web site.
They also have a large version of the 50Amp clamps

scramblerMemberThanks
scramblerMemberMay I ask how the integration is done, and especially how home assistant is pulling the emporia data?
Thanks

scramblerMemberI have a spreadsheet that does that for my particular installation, but the import has to be done manually.
Also, unless it changed recently, if you want to graph minute data, you have to download that weekly, as they don’t keep it longer…

August 20, 2023 at 5:46 pm in reply to: How to categorize a bi-directional PV circuit? #9776 Report AbusescramblerMember@emporiacs Emporia has been promising the bidirectional update for years, is there some actual planned date for such an update, or is it just a wish?
Just would like to know the reality of it all…
Thank you

Just be mindfull that if they decide to come by and add a seal later on, you may be locked out of your device 🙂
Next best solution add a small electrical box on the side.
scramblerMemberIt measures the actual voltage of the line, and is also supposed to measure the power factor, although people with 3 phases in Europe are reporting issues with that.
scramblerMemberIt looks like you should be able to put the clamps around the busbars coming out of the main breakers.
There may not be enough space on the left of the left bar though….

February 5, 2023 at 10:32 pm in reply to: first time setup, how to adjust multiplier in France, feedback from FR welcome : #9338 Report AbusescramblerMemberYou should not need a multiplier if you have a CTs on each wire.
Are the values detected by the Gen2 CTs on your Main phases different that the values reported by the Linky?
For solar, make sure of where your solar system is measuring.
Most solar system with a string inverter measures the Solar panels production, which is DC power, and before inverter.
The Gen2 will measure AC power coming out of the inverter and into the house panel, and that can be almost 10% less power than the Panel DC power.- This reply was modified 1 year, 1 month ago by scrambler.
scramblerMemberNot sure what you are asking, but the browser web portal of your emporia Vue device uses the same credentials as the APP, and that you created when you first installed your Vue

scramblerMemberYou need a CT on each Phase wire for accurate reading
