My 4th Smart Plug is working now….after I let it gather its’ thoughts for the last 6 hours.

Just spent an hour adding another Smart Plug.  Finally got the app to see it and it is listed as an input.  The tiny blue light is solid.  When I select to turn on or off the Smart Plug via the app, it thinks it is but the Smart Plug does nothing.  Randomly the Smart Plug will flash red for a second then go back to solid blue.  I’ve unplugged the Smart Plug and plugged it back in multiple times and closed and reloaded the app multiple time.  And yes, went the hotspot method as well.

The frustration level is high.  This technology has been used for a number of years with immediate success.  Why must it be so difficult here?

I will admit that, finally, my other 3 Smart Plugs seem to be working just fine after a few days.

I have used BlueStacks with full success.  I’m old and have phat phingers so using my full-size desktop is wonderful.  Never knew it existed until it was mentioned here.

My censor comment was because I was frustrated when I posted a couple of comments and they disappeared with no reason why.  I think I eventually figured it out after trial and error.  But deleting a comment without an explanation is not cool.

If this forum was hosted and managed by another entity other than Emporia I could understand why there could be attention issues but this has your name all over it.  I do understand the limited resources and thank you for the renewed emphasis on this forum.

This has been mentioned a few times.  Maybe in the next app update?

Some people just advocate to use one CT and use the multiplier.  I’m still in the data recording phase so I will see what the legs are and maybe use some numbers for the multiplier based on my trending data.  Currently, I have A/C-1 = 172.841 and A/C-2=171.642.  So, A/C-2 x 2.007 would be approximately the same as the two added together.  I have not tested, yet, how many positions there are to the right of the decimal.

I’m OCD so I will probably wait until the app gives me the separate and combined numbers.

I thought I read in here somewhere that the one-second interval is not really a “one-second” interval but some kind of average over 5 seconds.  But then again, it could be some residual leftover.  I’m no specialist in this area of life.  You have great graphing skills by the way.

My IT stuff is on a battery backup system.  Sometimes the utility power goes out and I still have Internet.  I’m pretty sure that if the utility and Internet went out that the Emporia stuff would be useless because it is cloud-based.  Would it still work if you have cell/data service through your phone?  Yeah, I’m probably not thinking clearly here.

I did a quickee lookee around and found these sensors that may help.  You could attach them to a PVC pipe so the wires would be inside the pipe.  Plugging off the pipe just below the lowest sensor and drill holes in the lower section and let the pipe rest on the bottom of the tank.
