Can I create a “Fridge Door Open” alert on an Emporia Smart Plug?

I’m looking through the  Notifications section of the Emporia app for a way to be notified if the fridge door has been left open when the fridge is on an Emporia smart socket.

There are a couple of promising functions that turn out to be teasers — not implemented — “Unusual Consumption” and “Home Mechanical Issues”.

There is an “Add Alert” function but only the Vue2 native ports appear there, not the smart sockets that in the app are nested under it.

Is there a way to do this?

The consumption pattern if the door is left open is easy to define.

Currently the only way to get notifications like this is to a custom notification based on time and energy thresholds.

Select Menu (☰) in top left corner
Select Notifications
Select Add Alert
Enter alert Name
Select the Device and Circuit to apply it to
Under Usage Threshold, select either Exceeds or Is Less Than or Equal To
Enter the kW amount and the duration values (quantity and time period)
Select Save. Once the criteria has been met you will receive a push notification on your device
