I bought the Vue2/EV charger combo to install with my 2 Solark 15Ks in a master/slave setup. I wanted to use the “excess solar” function of the Vue2 to send to the charger when cranking out excess power. Charge the car when there is excess solar power being made instead of sending it to the grid for 4 cents! Unfortunately I didn’t do enough digging on the real setup before buying. I see where they want two 50 amp CTs connected to the solar feed to the panel. With the 15k there is no way to do that! At least not that I know of, since it is all 4/0 wire in this setup. The 15k has a 200 amp bypass, so there isn’t a small amp critical loads panel. The power comes from the grid to the 15k grid connection, 15k load connection goes to the main breaker panel, all 4/0. There’s also three separate strings of PV panel connections (2 on the master 15k and 1 on the slave 15k).
Hopefully all that makes some sense!
Seems to me like the 200amp CTs should since power in and out. If there is power going out, that is excess power and should be directed to the EV charger. The 200amp CTs are bidirectional and the 50 amp are not, if I am reading the docs correctly!
