In early 2020 I purchased the Gen1 Vue with 8 connectors and it has sat on my shelf for two years unopened…

Just yesterday I redid my WIFI network with a new Wifi 6E router and I’m at the point where I said to myself “I really need to set this thing up and figure out why my electric bill is so darn high…”   Looking on Amazon and this site I see that there is a new Gen2 model out that monitors 16 circuits now.

My electrical setup (in the USA) is a 200AMP Main Panel in my garage and a 100AMP subpanel in my basement.  My thought is to buy a new Gen2 system and put that in my basement (because that’s where most of my usage is coming off of I believe)….and then use the older Gen1 model in the garage (as oddly enough there is less circuits being used off the main panel to monitor).

My question is…will the older Gen1 model allow for the ‘nesting’ feature of subpannels….or would I need to get an additional Gen2 monitor?

(My end goal is to get to a point where I can reconcile my power bill ($300-$500 a month…argh…) with the usage data off the Vue.)

Hi @zythior Yes the software should allow you nesting with Gen 1’s and Gen 2’s.

      thanks!
