My main panel only has double pole circuit breakers in it with the smallest being the 30A breaker for my a/c. I wanted to tie in the red and black wires for the vue device to each pole of the 30A a/c breaker but the wires on the harness look to be aluminum while the wires for my a/c are copper. I got some extra 10ga wire to use as a bridge but every twist connector I see says not to connect copper and aluminum wire on the package. Is the yellow twist connector provided in my kit somehow different and okay with that since i imagine many people must be connecting it with copper wire? It seemed small for 2 x 10ga and the 18ga power wire from the vue so i didn’t want to use it. I definitely appreciate any advice!

The gauge of wire for the wire harness is fine at 18AGW.

You can use a breaker larger (or smaller) than 15A to power the Gen 2. If you are going to tap into an occupied breaker larger than 15A, then the short black 14 gauge wire we supply in our accessories kit should not be used (it is only rated for 15A) and you will need to use the appropriate gauge wire for the tap. If the breaker is unoccupied then there is no need to use the wiretaps as you can install the wire directly into the breaker.
