I have a 60 amp breaker for an electric car charger. IIRC the charger itself pulls a max of ~47 amps. Would that make it safe to use the 50 amp sensors on that circuit or would I need to use 200 amp sensors?

Hello @elemenoh, the 50A sensors on the Gen 2 can read loads upto 75A, you you can use this on your EV charger breaker.

Our sensors have physical limitations. Each 200A sensor is accurate with high resolution between 0.04A – 250A (5W – 30kW) And each 50A sensor is accurate with high resolution between 0.04A – 75A (5W – 9000W). When you go below those ranges, the sensors will report about 0W. When you exceed those ranges the sensors will reach saturation and not report anything higher. Going above the sensors range does not cause any risk of damage to the Vue or the sensors.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
