I have a request for an optional configuration in the Emporia Energy Monitor Vue3.
My Grid feed connects to my solar feed before going to my power panel. Where these two feeds connect there is not enough room to place the CT’s on the Grid feed (zero space). I have placed the CT’s in the same location as the solar system did for their monitoring, the mains feeding the power panel and on the solar feed. Because of this, The Net Usage, In/Out from Grid, and Total Usage numbers are wrong in the Emporia App/Web, however the Solar Number is correct.
Since the Main CT’s are reading consumption independent of where the power is coming from (and will always be positive), a small change to the math would make all the numbers work (as they do now for the solar system reporting).
Solar is correct in this configuration, so no change.
Total Usage is directly from the Main CT’s
Net Usage is: Total Usage-Solar. If (-) then its “Out To The Grid”, if (+) then its “In From The Grid.
