We’re in the US, with 240v split phase.  We have a hybrid solar system, where most of the house runs from an off-grid battery & AC coupled solar system 99% of the time.  The inverters are their own mini-grid, not in phase with the grid.   Next to the main loads panel (that I monitor with a Vue 2), is the grid panel.  The grid panel has a couple of loads in it that would be useful to monitor all the time, and when the off-grid system connects to the grid it would be nice to see what is coming in from the grid total.

I did connect the 3rd voltage sense lead to the grid panel, and a couple CTs, hoping to monitor those loads, relative to the grid-phased voltage.  But it obviously doesn’t work correctly without appropriate s/w.   The s/w does show a load, but it’s not accurate.  The measurement ‘beats’ as the voltages of the grid and off-grid system go in & out of phase.

This feature would be useful for an increasing number of users with grid tied solar, with battery backup, where the battery inverter operates separately from the grid.

      Thanks,  Dale

Thanks for sharing this feature request for a custom sensor relationship.   We have sent this onto the developement team.
