Assuming I had an unoccupied tandem breaker with two 1P breakers (15A) – would there be any issue to using that tandem breaker for connecting the red & black wires providing power to the Vue unit?
I saw in another comment that the red & black wires need to be connected to opposite phase breakers, so I assume that would mean single tandem breaker is not going to work.
If both wires from the power harness are installed on a tandem that is on the same phase the software will detect an error. Two main sensors, one valid voltage. To correct that you will need to move the red wire one position(slot) up or down. Attached is an example of single-phase tandem breakers.
