V2.5 – Wrong devices displayed when poor connection

With the new 2.5 app, some sort of default / demo devices are listed anytime a connection is being established or connection is poor.  None of the devices displayed are correct – seems to be some sort of demo mode with devices like Hot Tub – which I don’t have.  This can be seen when the app starts up if you expand the device list before the measurements come in (when all Vues show zero).  This also happens if the connection becomes not great, such as over cellular with weak or laggy signal.  The device list alternates between actual devices and power, and this odd list of demo devices – back and forth.   I have two Vue 2’s currently, and both do the same thing with incorrect devices being shown (Hot Tub, etc), and all power (device and panel) also showing as zero.  I never noticed this with the app prior to 2.5.

This appears to be the default view until the Vue actually syncs up with the data.

I agree that it does not really make sense to show that list, it would be best not to have any items listed until a sync is established and can show the real devices and numbers. It would be less ambiguous.

I agree, it seem like a default until sync up.  But it also resorts to this after sync up, and flips back and forth between real and fiction with a bad connection.

Hey @djwakelee and @scrambler,

You’re both correct. It comes down to a sync/timing issue between the app and cloud. We are pushing a quick fix this afternoon that should reduce the occurrence of this issue in general, and a longer term plan (that’ll include an app update) to show within the app when we’re syncing data (instead of just showing zero’s or the demo account circuit view).
