I just installed a gen 2 Vue, I’m in North America with the typical 120/240 single-phase system, so I have two 200A CTs on my main feeds.  The CTs are connected to the “A” and “B” ports on the Vue, leaving the “C” port unused.

And… I have a 100A feed going to a subpanel I’d like to monitor.  Can I buy another 200A CT, plug it into port “C”, and use it to monitor that subpanel?

      Hi,

That will not be possible. Anything plugged into the top ports of the monitor will be considered Total Usage by the system, so it will mess up your data if you have a circuit on top ports.

If you have a 100A circuit, by the 80% NEC rule, it should not pull over 80% of its capacity, so you’re looking at monitoring 80A.

The 50A sensors will read up to just under 75A, and show a flat line above that, so you can monitor your 100A circuit using 2 x 50A CTs, one per leg of that circuit and you should get accurate readings.
