My main panel only has three breakers

      subpanel, solar and A/C, 90A, 50A and 60A.

Can I install the Vue2 and power it from outside? I would have to power it from a line coming from the subpanel,

which may have different voltage (see this thread https://community.emporiaenergy.com/topic/precision-of-vue2/)

Do you only want to monitor those 3?  Or do you want it in the subpanel where you can monitor individual circuits and see what they’re using?

You can power it from the breakers in that panel.  See 7b in the install guide.  Just double tap them on the breakers instead of the lead and split like they do there.

I have one in the subpanel already but the main is too far.

Cannot do the tapping in the main since the wires are too big.

I would need an adapter to power it from a plug.

I was thinking about installing a second unit there to monitor AC and solar which do not go via the subpanel.
