On some other energy monitors, the CT’s connect to wire terminals.  The upshot is that if you wanted to bundle several circuits together, BUT they’re on different phases or legs, you can still do it by putting a CT on each circuit (or bundle of circuits on the same phase/leg just like now), and connecting two (or more) CT’s to the same channel.

My use-case:  I have a sub-panel in the basement.  It isn’t balanced, but just like the Main I don’t care about the usage on each leg, only the total.  Would be nice to only tie up one input channel on the Vue2, and even nicer to see one line-item “Basement Sub-panel” even though it requires two CT’s to measure accurately.

I think the multi CT is a good idea. We might tinker around the shop for an “official” solution, but here is a post from the community that might help if you’d like to make a go of it: https://community.emporiaenergy.com/topic/gen2-and-2-200-amp-panels/#post-6583

As far as multiple CT’s showing up as a single line item in the App, this will be added in a future release that will allow you to combine/nest multiple CT’s  into a single “circuit” within the App (NOTE: this is for a normal CT installation, not related to “splitting” the CT mentioned above). Probably early summer for this update.
