Hi Jim,
We are working on that! Stay tuned!

Unfortunately, right now, the Emporia App does not offer a way of adding circuits together. It’s a very common feature requested by our customers, and we’re working on that to be launched in a future firmware update, but we still don’t have an ETA for that functionality.
As a workaround, you can export the CSV files and add the fields together to have the total for your appliance.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
CSV files bring raw data in kW and kWh only.

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi OP,
Thanks for the details here.
For Excess Solar Optimizer feature, the amperage cannot be limited to a minimum charge rate.
For the error on the car side, that would have to be managed on the car side. The charger will beep anytime it finds an error. When the car does not accept charge, it’s an error on the EV Charger side. That is intended to occur and not a malfunction of Excess Solar. The car should be able to accept charge as soon as there is solar consistently available for at least one minute detected by the 200A CTs. (Remember, the 200A CTs need to see at least 1500W for one minute consistently to turn on Excess Solar.) So, if the car locks out the ability to accept charger, there’s no way for the charger to identify this so it just sees a situation where power is not being transferred, the car is not accepting charge, and thus the fault alarm.
Are you, by chance, overriding the Excess Solar feature? When you override excess solar what happens? You will have to wait two hours until you can use the feature again.
If you contact us directly, we’ll be happy to troubleshoot further with you in more detail specific to your situation. (Please just link to this thread when you do.)
We also recommend that you contact your Nissan dealer to have them help you with this from the perspective of the car. Remember, that ultimately the car is charge.
We’ve passed along your feedback to the team as well!
emporiacsEmporia StaffWhile the Vue2 has the 250A limitation for the mains, Utility Connect has no limitation on panel capacity. So, this approach is correct!
Utility Connect for the mains, then two Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitors into the separated panels, and nest them together! The only limitation to keep in mind here is location, because the Utility Connect is only an option in select markets.

Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor – How does it work?
Our Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor can be set up anywhere in the world and gives you the measurements of your live mains and your individual circuits to show your total usage in real-time through the Emporia app. The Gen 2 Vue measures voltage, phase, and current to calculate power and it works in system voltage (line-to-neutral voltage per phase) under ~264V and the line amperage must be under 250A for the main lines (monitored with a “200A” CT).

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
We can help clarify here. Thanks for the details.
Custom Sort is an app-only setting. You can organize them however you want on the app, if you don’t, the default will show circuits by usage.
You have to move at least one for custom sort to stick, if you don’t move any, it keeps sorting by usage.More information: https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9557527221015

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
At this time, our 50A CTs are not bi-directional.

We’ve noted your feedback to the team.
emporiacsEmporia StaffThanks for the detailed feedback! We passed it along and the team appreciates it! We currently have no status or ETA for your last question.
emporiacsEmporia StaffWe’ve forwarded your valuable feedback to the team. Thanks for the inquiry. At this time, we don’t have ETAs for feature requests or firmware updates.

Some additional insight that may be of interest:
If your plan is not listed by the NREL, you can still have one flat rate for the cost of energy in the Emporia app.
To set a manual flat rate on the Emporia app please:
Select Menu (☰) in top left corner
Select Household Info under Settings
Select Set Utility Rate
Select the device you want to make changes to
The Utility rate will default to a manually entered value, to change that value simply edit the Cents per kWh field. Make sure to use whole cents ( i.e. 12.4¢ NOT .124 to calculate $0.124/kWh rate)More information: https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9404822704919-Cost-Rate-settings
For dynamic rates when your plan is not there, you can still export the CSV files to make calculations after the fact.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi, We’ve passed your feedback along to the team.
The Smart Meter protocol that we use generally updates data every 30 seconds but it can vary by meter make and model.
January 3, 2024 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Multiple 20/15A Circuits Through Single CT? #10221 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffThank you! This is correct.
Here’s how we explain it:
To monitor more than one circuit line using the same 50A CT, you need to be sure they are in the same phase of power, otherwise they will cancel each other out and you’ll have zero readings.
