The 1 sec data is retained for 3 hrs At the time of the download. It is really only significant for startup spikes. I grouped the disposal with the furnace because it’s easy to tell them apart, and it’s mainly the furnace that I monitor.

Yes, the downloaded data has both mains independently. Be careful… Data analysis is addicting!

You get a zip file containing Day, Hour, Minute (most useful), and Second data (for 3 hrs only) for the range you specify.

To keep tabs on most all loads, I have many pushing 2 circuits through 1 CT, for example the furnace and garbage disposal are together, but easily distinguishable.

Waterboyz-  Yes, the builder didn’t cut corners on over-filling my box!  Unfortunately, when I went to install the Vue I discovered that all the Challanger breakers were condemned about 20 yrs ago, so I replaced them all.   Around here at least the twins are more commonly called “tandem” single poles. Many people confuse the terminology which is why I posted.

As far as my profile pic, I didn’t do anything to display it, but it’s my Google account picture and was likely automatically loaded when I signed into the forum with that account.

If the 220v isn’t balanced (like with a dryer), shouldn’t running one of the legs “backwards” through the CT, then using a .5 multiplier work to sum both legs with one sensor?

If the double pole beaker occupies a single slot in the box, it is sharing the same phase to both circuits.  In this case, both wires can go through the sensor in the same direction and you will have both as a single channel in the app.  All of my 15’s are like this:

If it takes up 2 slots, like US 220V breakers, then one of the circuit wires would have to run through the CT in the opposite direction as to not cancel out the other phase.

Wrapping is a good idea! As long as the sensor wires don’t wind around each other (sort of forming their own CV), there should be no cross talk between them.  This is my panel before closing up, I have no erroneous noise.

Just installed my system last night and I my brain is saturated with data! lol
I noticed that I can’t see what each leg of the 220 from the meter is providing, and this is the only thread I found that seems to address it.
This data is important because it allows provides information to balance the loads for backup generator use.

I’m new to this product; just ordered my system yesterday! However, after reading many threads requesting API (starting over a year ago), then seeing in another post, “…our software, hardware, and business is developed around collection and analytics of energy data in the cloud”, I’m guessing that the energy usage data these devices send to emporia is being negotiated with outside companies? It would definitely explain the reluctance to make the Vue data privately accessible. I tried to read the “terms and conditions” to see the privacy statement in the app but the link was broken.

Hello, my name is Dave and I reside in western NY.
I became interested in energy monitoring because I am a bit of data junkie… About 10 years ago I wrote a program in Labview to monitor my furnace run time compared to indoor and outdoor temperature (and even sunlight) with the main purpose to investigate any advantage to altering the thermostat when not home. I even compared it to my friends house, which was newer and more insulated. (Result summary: Took 8 hours to “break even” in both cases)

You might say I am tired of rotating my single “kilowatt” meter between appliances of interest, and manually entering very “coarse” (daily or weekly) data! lol
I just ordered an emporia system for my home, and I’ve been scouring the forum to know what to do and expect once my monitor kit arrives!
