Hi, when you add 2 lines in different phases to the same CT they will cancel each other out. Use one 50A CT per leg, and you can find more sensors here at our shop, if needed: https://shop.emporiaenergy.com/collections/accessories/products/set-of-eight-50a-sensors-for-gen-2-vue
Please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to detail this further with you.
March 26, 2024 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Real vs Apparent vs Reactive Power & why things dont add up in the app #10622 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffWe measure both, apparent and real power but we report real power only in the app, as that will be what the utility company bills you for energy.
March 26, 2024 at 7:49 pm in reply to: EV chargers fails to turn on at scheduled time #10620 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffTo make sure schedules are working correctly in the Emporia app, make sure the toggle is in PAUSED.
Here’s how to find the toggle:
1. From the App Home screen, select your EV Charger by tapping the Electric Pump Icon located to the left of the charger’s name.
2. In the middle of the screen you’ll see the the toggle, the button that controls the charger: when it’s gray, it’s in the PAUSED mode, no power will be sent from the EV Charger and it will respect the schedules created or Energy management features set in the Emporia App. It also locks the charger for unwanted users.
When it’s blue, it’s in the READY mode, and it’s going to charge as soon as you plug into the vehicle (as long as the vehicle is ready to accept charge).
If using schedules, don’t forget to confirm your Time Zone so the charger knows what time it is!

March 11, 2024 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Are Vue 2 CT compatible with the new Vue v3 #10585 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffHi OP,
Hardware: The hardware is different between the Gen 2 and Gen 3 Emporia Vue Energy Monitors, inclusive of the CTs not being interchangeable.
Emporia App: Gen 2 and Gen 3 Emporia Vue Energy Monitors can be nested under each other in the app no problem — it’s all software in that regard.

March 1, 2024 at 10:56 pm in reply to: Smart plug usage not deducted from nested circuit #10543 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
A few insights/questions for you to consider that may help:
If it is nested correctly in the App, it should be discounted.
Is it nested right the right circuit? Or under the mains? Check that!
Are the circuits named correctly? We have numbers in the back of the Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor that can help as a reference point.
