Emporia StaffAt this time we do not have an open API. We understand that some people may want to log and analyze their data locally; however, our software, hardware, and business are developed around the collection and analytics of energy data in the cloud.

Emporia StaffKnowing the toggle is the key to use your charger!
From the Emporia app, tap home >> electric pump icon >> in the middle of the screen you see the toggle. When it’s gray, it’s in the PAUSED mode, no power will be sent from the EV Charger. When it’s blue, it’s in the READY mode, and it’s going to charge as soon as you plug into the vehicle (as long as the vehicle is ready to accept charge).

Emporia StaffHi,
We have some more info for you!
Right now the 50A CT’s on the Gen 2 don’t have the capability to capture bi-directional current flow – so they can only capture all measured usage as either production or consumption. The “ghost” generation you’re seeing at night is actually the small consumption required by the inverter to keep operating (to match grid phase) and is usually only a few watts (depending on the size of the inverter itself) – but is displayed as generation since the circuit type is flagged as Solar. We’re going to be launching a firmware update for the Gen 2 in the future to provide this capability, so when that is available the 50A CT should track this usage correctly as consumption rather than “ghost” generation.
Let me know if you’d need any additional clarification!

Emporia StaffHi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Having multiple reports being sent to multiple emails is something we’d like to add in a future firmware update. We don’t currently have an estimate for that feature to be available.

Emporia StaffHi, thank you for the feedback.
Emporia app does not integrate with Home Assistant yet but we’re working on that for a future firmware update.

Emporia StaffAlso, it is possible that there is a calibration issue or similar on the Gen 2 Vue that would cause it to be a bit inaccurate in kW/kWh, but requires diagnostic tools available with Customer Support.

Emporia StaffHi,
Thank you for the additional details.
There is no bug and the Gen 2 Vue works in 3-phase systems without Delta. We have customers in Europe, Asia, Middle East, and the USA using the Gen 2 Vue in 3 phases with plenty of accuracy, and our monitor measures both real and apparent power, but we display only real power within the app itself.
Hope that helps clarify further.
