I’ve been looking into numbers that appear to be wrong on my Vue 2 and so far it appears that AMPS are correct and WATTS are sometimes incorrect. I have been monitoring some circuits where the watt values seem wrong but if I switch to amps the amps number seems right. And oddly, if I take the amp reading and multiple by 120 (for a single leg circuit) I get only a fraction of what is being reported for watts. This is only happening on some circuits and I haven’t figured out why yet but it might be for all the CTs on a certain leg.
avietMemberI am seeing a similar problem. Trying to figure out why some circuits seem to be showing incorrect numbers. From what I can tell if I switch to amps I get correct values, if I switch to watts I occasionally get incorrect values. In my case watts are much lower than they should be. To get this data I’ve been looking at real-time values one my phone and website at the same time. I have one set to amps the other set to watts. The amp values always look correct whereas the watt values do not with some circuits consistently reporting very low watts. I’m thinking the voltage measurements are right on one phase and wrong on the other but I’m not sure it’s that simple, and I’ve verified I have the Vue plugged into both phases.
June 13, 2023 at 9:17 pm in reply to: Having Vue located in multiple homes. How are you doing this #9609 Report AbuseavietMemberI’m going to do this myself soon. Since the dashboard currently has no way to combine multiple units anyway I was planning to stick with one account and just have it show the multiple VUEs. I already have multiple VUEs in one house and it shows them all separately. Ironically, I wish they had a way to combine them (not just nesting, but as peers that can be summed).
avietMemberIn my experience when you hook up new CTs and there is power on the monitored line it will just show up in the Vue app (or web app). If you don’t specify a name for the circuit it will just have the number corresponding to where you’ve plugged in the CT. You can then go into “Manage Devices” to give the circuit a name.
avietMemberNot to pile on but I’ve started installing a bunch of Gen 2 Vue’s and also need this feature. The feature to do nesting is great and is appropriate for subpanels that are off one of my mains but I have 2 different mains that are monitored from different locations. Hope the Emporia team can add this soon!
