We do not recommend hooking into a breaker larger than 20 amps.Correction (02/08/24): We recommend using the bridge wire we send only if you are going to do pigtail hook-up into a 15A Breaker, for breakers larger than that, please use the correct wire gauge

July 8, 2023 at 1:31 am in reply to: Having Vue located in multiple homes. How are you doing this #9673 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffEach Vue Gen 2 device is hard-capped to support monitoring for up to 16 individual circuits, but you can install as many devices as you need and manage them all with one account in the App. You don’t need several accounts to manage several devices, only one Emporia account can hold as many devices as you need.

We are planning on implementing a firmware update that will make that functionality available on existing and new 50A sensors and therefore we recommend you install them per the installation guide so you will not have to make any changes to your existing configuration once it’s released.
When monitoring a solar/generation circuit, you’ll want to install the sensor with the arrow (K➜L) pointing towards the breaker.

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi all,
Thank you for continuing to express your interest in this feature.
We’ve mentioned this on another thread, but worth mentioning here as well:
We are doing our best to build the many feature enhancements on our roadmap – both those requested by our customers and those that will make Emporia the best Smart Home Energy Management service available. We maintain a very small development team in order to ensure this service remains free to you. Their priorities are often adjusted to fix critical customer-facing issues or to build features that will have the broadest impact to our customer base. We will continue to monitor for everyone’s feedback and pass it on to the team. We appreciate your support and understanding.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi Bobby,
We are working on displaying Volts, We hope to have it live in the following few app updates, but no solid timeline as of now.
Thanks.

As for API, more information is available here: https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9612779482135-Is-an-API-available-
emporiacsEmporia StaffWe understand that some people may want to log and analyze their data locally; however, our software, hardware, and business is developed around the collection and analytics of energy data in the cloud. You can try searching for “API” in our forums here to see what others have done.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi OP,
We take it you’re asking about the ability to ‘merge’ sensors/circuits and combine the usage and then nest that; we have that on the roadmap.
If you contact us via our contact page with your email pointing to this thread, we’ll be able to “mirror” your setup to make the best recommendation possible.

NavyLCDR,
You can certainly use a 2-pole breaker. If it is larger than 20amps please use the correct gauge of wire to hook into.
Tandem breakers are on the same phase so we will only capture voltage from that phase. -
