Hi,
Thank you for your interest!
The Emporia EV Charger With NACS connector is currently slated for arrival in March.
The Emporia EV Charger’s J1772 connector cannot be swapped to a NACS connector.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi OP,
It could be a few things, such as be the meter itself, the connection meter to monitor, or something else.
We have many customers with PG&E and the Utility Connect and are not aware of a widespread issue at this time.
Please contact our support team team directly and we’d be happy to look into this from the Emporia side. Please reference this thread when you contact us for quicker support.
emporiacsEmporia StaffEmporia Energy does not offer an API and at this time our 50A CTs are not bi-directional. Because of that limitation, if you want to monitor the charging and discharging of the battery you need a dedicated Gen 2 and use only the 200A CTs. Otherwise, we recommend not monitoring the battery at this time.

emporiacsEmporia StaffThank you for this feedback. We’ve passed it along to the team. If you ever need any help with your Emporia Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor don’t hesitate to contact us!
emporiacsEmporia StaffYes, you can! If your circuit has only two appliances, you can use the Smart Plug for say the freezer and it will discount the freezer usage from the circuit, and the rest of the usage for that circuit is coming from the wine cooler.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi, thanks for choosing the Emporia EV Charger and the Emporia Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor!

emporiacsEmporia StaffThank you for this feedback.
The Emporia EV Charger is set from the factory to charge at 40 Amps.
To raise or lower the charge rate to match your breaker size and to take advantage of the numerous other features available from Emporia will require the Emporia App, yes. We believe these features provide extensive value, in terms of energy management, to our customers to control, monitor, automate, and save. Our ability to do this effectively is tied to having this information within our cloud.

January 19, 2024 at 7:23 pm in reply to: Pulling Energy monitor data via json through API #10313 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
We don’t have an API currently. All data is stored in the Emporia cloud.
We do have customers who have built open source projects that can work as a great substitute. Here are links to some of those projects:

emporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
If you haven’t contacted our support team directly yet, please do and we’d be happy to help! A quick check from our support team can help to ensure the wire harness is correctly hooked up.
If you’re in a split phase, you’ll want to terminate the black wire into one phase of power (L1), the red wire into the second phase – L2 (usually in an adjacent breaker), and then have the blue and white wires going into the neutral bus bar.
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi, thanks for this feedback and for choosing Emporia!
While we don’t currently offer custom notifications for smart plugs, you can set an Offline Notification to let you know when the device is disconnected for more than 10 minutes.
To set an Emporia Offline Notification, open the Emporia app and:
Select Menu (☰) in top left corner
Select Notifications under Settings
Select Emporia Offline (at the bottom)
Toggle the slider on the right to enable the notification for your device(s)More information: https://help.emporiaenergy.com/hc/en-us/articles/9335125124375-Notifications
emporiacsEmporia StaffHi,
Thank you for this feedback. We’ve relayed it to the team.
While we don’t have custom notifications to Smart Plugs at the moment, you can setup an Offline Notification that will let you know when the device is disconnected after 10 minutes.
January 18, 2024 at 12:02 am in reply to: Can I put multiple CTs on one circuit? #10277 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffHi! Sure, you can monitor each leg no problem! Just add a 50A CT per leg and you will have data from each leg separated. The sensors should be placed in the legs, before the bridge wire.
January 17, 2024 at 11:57 pm in reply to: set EVSE to not charge after a loss of power until manual intervention #10276 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffThanks for the suggestion relating to outage situations; we’re going to make sure the developers take a look. There is no logic to pause the charger after loss of power.
When the power comes back, the charger remains in the state it was when power was lost. Paused if in paused; ready if in ready. If in ready, will start to charge again as soon as there is any power available. Grid or generator. Whatever is available. The charger does not care about the source.
An option would be to power the EV Charger from a breaker that’s not connected to the generator. The charger cannot detect the difference from where power is coming from.
January 17, 2024 at 11:54 pm in reply to: Is there a way to see Energy Consumption for Last Month/Year for 4PM-9PM? #10275 Report AbuseemporiacsEmporia StaffHi, we have many customers that ask about sizing a battery or generator. We don’t show the Peak Demand figure in the App, but the data is available.
In order to see past month’s peak demand 15-minute window (closest thing we have to true peak demand figure) you can export the raw data for that month to CSV then pick the highest value out of that export in kW/kWh.
