Hello, can you please send us an email @ support@emporiaenergy.com with your contact information so we can review further. Please be sure to include the email that your Emporia Vue account is under.
Thanks!
March 16, 2020 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Tags Feature per Circuit to keep track of Devices on each circuit #6062 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@zerowatt, thanks for the recommendation! We understand that the limitation on character length makes it difficult to list all the items that might be attached to that circuit. We have limited space with the phone App and need to ensure that all readings are visible and not wrapped/or run into each other ect. I will definitely get your recommendation to tag devices that belongs to a circuit to the development team.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHi @Alden, thanks for the update. And as you have found, the sensors are not interchangeable. We do have larger diameter 50A sensors should you need them for your larger diameter wires in your panel.
Thanks!
March 16, 2020 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Ability to show ‘other’ usage in graphs for expansion module #6059 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @maj170123, great idea on having the ability to graph the “other” category. I will definitely get this to the development team for review.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Ezra Good Afternoon Gentlemen!
Thanks for the input and discussion around the new home page and our “other” measurement. As you have pointed out the “other” value is derived from the total value of the mains less the sum of the 8 expansion circuits.
Other = Main – (Sum of Expansion 1-8)
As you have pointed out when their is a negative value, it definitely shows percentages over 100% and negative as seen in the screen shot. We are looking into this further and will let you know how we plan to address it.
March 10, 2020 at 5:21 pm in reply to: tabulated data with columns scroll-able horizontally for duration comparison #6047 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @jinlsui – Thank you so much for your feedback on scrolling horizontally on the home page. I will definitely get this to our development team for review. In terms of changing the displayed data with one button on top, I’m not sure I follow. We do have the ability to switch units by tapping the current unit displayed, which opens a drawer with the units listed, and then when you click to another unit, the selection drawer closes and brings up the selected unit of measurement.
Thanks,
Marty
March 10, 2020 at 4:49 pm in reply to: How to reboot, the app won’t connect after router reboot #6046 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Mikey, thanks for the follow up and information on your router and firmware. We will look into this and see if we can determine why the device is not reconnecting to your network after being powered off and on.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @kk07, currently the maximum capacity of each Vue is 8 sensors and yes a purchase of a second device would be needed. In our efforts to deliver the most functionality with the best possible price this is where we landed. We do understand there are many customers like yourself who would like to monitor more, but don’t have the room or do not want to purchase an entire new unit.
Hope you can understand our desire to balance between capacity and cost.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @Paul,
Thanks for reaching out to us in regards to your monitoring needs. Since the Main Vue and the Expansion module report independently of each other, this will not pose any issues on our end.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Marty
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @solidfunkin,
Thanks so much for your input and feedback around our monitoring floor of the 50A expansion circuits. The floor for the 50A expansion circuits is actually 36 watts, not 20. We will definitely update this on our documentation.
As for a option to allow the customer to turn off/on, this is something we have considered before and at this time do not have that on our development roadmap.
We are a small team, with limited resources and are currently focused on other pressing enhancements. We appreciate your feedback and hope you understand that we’re working very hard to prioritize the many enhancements that have been requested.
Thanks!
Marty
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @Chuck, we are still looking into this. Do you continue to see these type of discrepancies?
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Mikey sorry you are having issues with your Vue reconnecting to your WiFi on its own. We certainly would like to look into this for you and see what we can determine is causing this issue.
Can you provide your Router Manufacture/Type, FW version, as well as confirm you are on the most updated Emporia App https://emporiaenergy.com/app you can reply to this post or send us the requested info via email, to support@emporiaenergy.com

February 25, 2020 at 12:47 am in reply to: Solar Monitoring Double Pole Install Questions #5978 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@charlie Please see the responses below.
Are the two main clamps enough to measure Net Metering?
Yes the two main clamps are capable of net metering your whole homes usage, no other hardware is required.
Do I also need one or two more smaller clamps on the Double Pole Breaker the PV system feeds into?
The 50A (smaller) sensors that come with the expansion module are NOT required nor do they impact your net metering from the mains. The 50A sensors are also non-directional and only measure the flow of current, therefore will be positive numbers by default.
Can I just have one clamp and set the multiplier to 2 like the rest of my double poles?
Yes, you can use the multiplier on your two pole solar feed just like you do with other circuits that are double pole.
If having a clamp or two on the double pole solar breaker is optional, what information would I be missing if I left them off?
If I understand your question, not having the 50A clamps on your solar lines feeding the circuit breaker, you would not be able to see total production of your solar system, however, as mentioned above you would still be able to do net metering.
The main Vue and Expansion readings do not impact each others readings.
I read something about people installing for solar here, and something about having to put in a negative multiplier. I didn’t quite understand what they were talking about. Would we all need to do this too? Is this something that will eventually be addressed?
Putting in a negative number on the expansion circuit that is monitoring your solar system is purely aesthetic. If you put in a negative number it will show negative readings with green graphs vs the default of positive numbers and blue graphs.
I also read about values going negative at night time. Should we ignore or has this been addressed or can it be eventually fixed?
This is most likely do to a configuration issue. You should not see negative numbers for an extended period of time if your Vue is installed and configured correctly according to the installation directions.
However, as the solar system begins to wind down for the evening, the Vue might take a few minutes to recognize that there is no solar production before the system switches to a blue graph positive number indicating a net load on the system.
One person had their production numbers fluctuating wildly and you guys were looking into it but I never saw a follow up. Is that an isolated incident?
As stated above, if individuals were seeing wild fluctuations it could of been for various reasons and we work with those individuals to correct their problem.
I need to add here that I initially thought with the Double Pole Breakers that I needed clamps on both poles only to find out online here that I could double the multiplier (2) in the app. This is a really excellent feature. However, I wasn’t sure if this also applied to the solar portion. Part of the reason why I ask is that before I got this system, I had been looking at Sense Solar which has two additional clamps just for the solar breaker and I’m wondering if there’s a particular reason why one would need both.
As stated above, we measure net metering from the mains. The expansion module is just a added tool to monitor specific circuits.
