Thank you for at least allowing 7 /8 days for the minute data, this is helping.
Have you decided to offer a data subscription so we could extend the minute data download to months or year?

scramblerMemberSomeone also just mentioned that the App must be given the Bluetooth access.
scramblerMemberMy understanding is as follow.
The 200A CTs are directional, and do measure both direction/sign. The vue does assume they are located above everything, so if you have solar above them, the calculations in the app will be wrong, but individual, measurement should still be right, so you can do your own reconciliation in excel.
About:
“Although the instructions mention fitting the CTβs directionally I was under the impression that they are only able to βreadβ the magnitude not direction of a current and had assumed the request for directionality was possibly related to accuracy?”
All CTs, including the 50A CTs measure directionally. BUT for now the Software ignores the sign of the 50A CTs measurement, so they will only report one sign (unlike the 200A Cts). That is supposed to be fixed in a near future SW update.
This is why it IS important to Wire the Solar CTs in opposite direction, as this is what the SW assumes.

scramblerMemberLove that channel π
scramblerMemberYou cant right now.
Amps as well as other values like Volts, Power factor… will supposedly become available in the future, but are not for now.
We are waiting impatiently π

scramblerMemberA couple of things that are important for solar setup.
- Did you mount the CTs on solar breakers in reverse from the load breakers (pointing in opposite direction)
- Did you turn off the solar breakers before powering the Vue and doing the setup, and make sure you had some significant loads on both grid legs.
If you missed either, you may need to redo the setup from scratch following the guidelines.

scramblerMemberMy setup is a little simpler as the Critcal load panel is normally connected to the grid in the house panel, and has its own transfer switch to switch to the inverter only in an outage.
So when the grid is up, the solar inverter breaker in the house panel mostly goes from inverter to the house panel. Only exception is if the Inverter is topping off the battery from the grid outside of solar hours. In that case, power goes from house panel to the inverter, but is still recorded as going the other way.
This means I have to massage the data in Excel to correct the sign during these events which are rare and short (one hour at most).Of course during an outage, the issue would be worse, as the Critical load panel would then be fed by the Inverter, and this means the power measured at the inverter breaker in the house panel may be going into one direction, sometimes the other, so the reading becomes unusable.
Given that situation, I am waiting for them to implement the directional reading in SW, hoping it wont be too long.
scramblerMemberSolar users like myself with hybrid systems that have a battery and critical loads powered directly by the inverter have been asking that question for a while…
The answer has been that the Vue Gen2 Hardware can to bidirectional measurement, that it is not yet supported in the Software, but will be in the future.
We are all awaiting for it ! π
scramblerMemberWithout connection to the internet, you get no data and it is lost when reconnecting. Only the total is supposedly saved, but not the details.
Numerical data like what the Vue transmits are a VERY small internet load, so I don’t think you should worry about data usage.
March 14, 2021 at 1:07 am in reply to: CSV Export should include all Smart Sockets #7152 Report AbusescramblerMemberWhen you do a CSV export, you get a Zip file with 4 files
The day increment values, the hour increment values and the seconds increment values.
In each file, the first column is the time stamp, followed by one column per CT, then each line has the kilowatt reading for the corresponding CT and time stamp

March 8, 2021 at 10:29 pm in reply to: Shouldn’t my Main panel be showing negative? #7118 Report AbusescramblerMemberI you initialized the system originally with the solar CTs installed in the same direction as the other one, then this is likely your issue.
My advice would be to:
- Power off the Vue.
- Delete the device from the app
- Switch off solar
- Reverse the solar CTs (opposite direction as the load CTs)
- Leave solar off, then add the Vue again in the app, and power it up (solar off).
- Let it redo the whole initialization.
- Then when instructed switch on the solar breakers.
March 7, 2021 at 8:21 pm in reply to: Amp text display seems truncated down instead of being rounded #7111 Report AbusescramblerMemberActually amps are displayed with 2 decimals on small value, so there should not be any rounding on the displayed value at all
March 7, 2021 at 8:17 pm in reply to: Shouldn’t my Main panel be showing negative? #7109 Report AbusescramblerMemberSolar CTs are supposed to be installed in the reverse direction from load CTs, did you do that?
Also did you make sure the Solar breaker(s) where switched off during the initial powering of the Vue?

What about putting a larger conduit?
