Hi @zeusvh,
100% agreed. We have this feature added to our development roadmap. I don’t have any timeline of when it might be available, but the team is aware of the issue and will be added to the app.
Thanks for the feedback!

April 20, 2021 at 10:31 pm in reply to: Great Product! My Wishlist on Software Features #7309 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHi Randy! Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad it can help in your situation. Regarding some of your requests/ideas, we are in various stages of implementation for many of them:
- You are correct about the display of “calendar” day/hour being potentially misleading. We’ll pass this information onto the development team as they work on features related to the home screen (more updates are planned for that page in the future).
- As far as changing the email address for the account, we can make that happen:
- First, create a new Emporia account with the new email address you’d like to use.
- Then, reach out to the Support Team here at Emporia (via email or chat using the email address that is currently registered with the account) with the new address you’d like to change to and we can update it from our end. This is a feature that is on the roadmap for the future.
- The nested (or “sub”) circuits/sensors is a feature that is currently in development (Beta testing) and should be released later in this quarter.
Again, thank you so much for the feedback and if you have any additional comments or questions, feel free to reach out.
Thanks,
Emporia Support Team
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffGreat recommendation Antonio! I agree this would help the user identify the days, I have passed this along to the app development team for review.

April 17, 2021 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Can I use extra CT 50 to monitor generator backfed breaker? #7294 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @hoof The 50 amp sensors are directional, however currently the Emporia Gen 2 firmware does not support that functionality at this time. As mentioned we compensate for this in the app by having a flag of solar/generation, which shows all energy flow, regardless of direction as production. We do plan on updating the firmware in the future to allow the 50 amp sensor to recognize energy flow in both directions. There is no need for a multiplier of negative -1. The circuit type determines how the numbers are displayed in the app.
Also during power outages where the ISP is lost, some customers use a mobile hotspot if available if their ISP is down.
To change/reconnect the Vue:
Tap the settings menu (three lines just below the Emporia logo), tap Manage Devices, Select Your Device, tap the Reset WiFi/Solar Setup , choose the Emporia product you would like to reset, follow the prompts to reconnect to your WiFi or Solar Set up.

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @akmeikle
This is actually in the FAQ under Setup / Can’t Connect;
On your phone:
Make sure you have chosen the Gen 2 setup flow. Gen 2 devices will not display in the list if you have chosen to setup a Gen 1 Vue.
Make sure your phone stays within Bluetooth range of the Vue while performing the setup. You should be no more than 15 feet from the device.
Enable Bluetooth for on your phone
Enable Bluetooth on your phone under Settings > General > Bluetooth (iPhone) or Settings > Connected Devices (Android)
iPhone ONLY: Enable Bluetooth for the Emporia appEmproia,
Gary
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @Ihatton we will definitely look into this and thanks for the documented steps you took to finally get your devices connected.
Should you discover any other issues or problems please let us know.

We are looking into this enhancement for a future release. You can always export the data CSV and the export breaks out L1 and L2.
Thanks!
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @ink Displaying AMPs is on the roadmap for display to the CSV export. We are a small team, with limited resources and are doing our best to prioritize feature request from all customers. We will get to this just as soon as we can!
Thanks for your feedback!

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @opentoideas
Thank you pointing out the outdated FAQ on voltage. The Gen 2 supports 240v. As for your solar readings please check the following.
- Please make sure your 200A sensor is installed between your utility meter and the solar input to your system.
- The black wire from the power harness is installed on a MCD for power and the white/blue/red wire from the wire is installed on the neutral bus.
If you did the install while the solar was ‘on’ please perform a WiFi Reset/Solar Set up on the app. Making sure your breaker for the solar is off and you are within bluetooth range of the Gen 2 Vue.
- Tap the settings menu (three lines just below the Emporia logo), tap Manage Devices, Select Your Device, tap the Reset WiFi/Solar Setup , choose the Emporia product you would like to reset, follow the prompts to reconnect to your WiFi or Solar Set up.
If you have any issues please reach out to the support team.

Emporia SupportEmporia Staff@mnwaterskiier thanks for the example of what you are seeing on the app. Please see our definitions below.
Main- this is your net metering, at this time you home was net consuming, and 1.057 kw of energy was being pulled from the utlity.
Solar- this was what your total solar production was
Total Usage- this is what the home was consuming in total from both your utility and solar production.
Balance- this is the energy that was being consumed that was not being measured by the 16 sensors.
If you feel this was not what was actually occurring, that you were actually NET Producing, then please reach out to our support team so we can check your install and make sure the Vue is installed correctly.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @Racer-X I apologize for the delay in our response. You are correct the Vue assumes 120v when calculated Amps; At this time the current in the app is actually calculated as [real power]/120, as opposed to [apparent power]/[measured voltage].
You can always reach us during our support hours through the contact methods listed below.

support@emporiaenergy.comEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @HenryH, thanks for pointing this out I will get this added. The K-L should be oriented for solar feeds into your panel with the L facing the panel and the K facing the solar source/inverter.
Please note below.

March 13, 2021 at 10:33 pm in reply to: 240V 3 Phase 4 Wire High Leg Delta Installation & Questions #7148 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @eleceng19792, thanks for your post. The Gen 2 Vue does not work on a high leg delta
“Supports single-phase up to 240VAC line-neutral; single, split-phase 120/240VAC; and three-phase up to 415Y/240VAC (no Delta).”
What we an do is if you please reach out to our support team we can check your installation and configuration to determine how the high leg is impacting your power readings.
