    @No4zn,

Thanks for the detail.  We have a minimum phase angle separation when you are setting up for solar net metering.   While we haven’t had any customers report to us that the 120 degree angle was not enough, most of these were three phase applications.   We certainly would be able to manually lock in your phases, a requirement for net metering, if during your set up you were getting a error indicating ‘two voltages on the same phase’.   As mentioned if you are installing two 200A sensors then the you would follow the steps for 8a/8b.

As for the RCD breakers which are the same as US AFCI(arc fault circuit interrupted)  you can install using these breakers by terminating our white wire from the wire harness on the same breaker that the black wire from our wire harness is on.   The black powers the Vue and therefore you need to have the neutral from out power harness matched to the same breaker so it doesn’t fault.

“If you are going to use an AFCI/RCD (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) breaker, you need to ensure that the black and white wires from the Gen 2 wire harness are both installed on the same AFCI/RCD breaker. Black needs to go to the hot/live and white to the neutral on the breaker. The red wire can be installed on another AFCI/RCD without any modification (since it is not pulling any power) and the blue wire will need to be installed on the neutral bar.”

Please feel free to contact our support team should you have any further questions.

    Cheers,

    Hello @yyzguy,

We certainly understand the challenges of these panels and I’m glad the Flexible Sensors worked for your mains.   Expanding these beyond the main sensors would be expensive and require significant development time and we just don’t have the bandwidth for that today.   It took us almost 2 years to bring the existing flexible sensors to market.   We are looking at other possibilities such as SMART breakers that would connect via Bluetooth to our Vue device and will continue to work with your hardware team to decrease the size of our sensors whenever possible.

Thanks so much for the feedback and your business!

    James

Hello @fraldom73, sometimes this can be a false error.   Low power from a specific phase can cause this error.   If you reach out to our support team directly, and provide you email we can check the configuration for you and confirm you have installed the three power harnesses correctly.

    Thanks!

@JimsEnergy we are working hard on fixing this issue.   We currently have two beta firmware’s we are testing and should have this resolved very soon.  This is a top priority for the development team.

@chrisg this is great feedback and I will share with the dev team.   AIRCON is a big consumer of electricity and agree this would be a nice combination.   We do integrate with some thermostats, and are working on adding more as well.

Currently we support Sensi, Ecobee and Honeywell.

Hello @tomfrommo7 at this time we do not support notifications on our Emporia SMART plug.   We do have this a planned feature release later this year.

    Hello @derf,

If you are no longer seeing a sensor listed on the Home Screen please make sure the jack is securely seated in the port of the device (they can get jostled loose when things are getting routed and the panel gets closed up).   If you can confirm that is it plugged in all the way, try moving it to a different port to see if the issue follows the sensor or if the port was the cause.

Please reach out to our support team if you need further assistance.

    Hello All,

We are doing our best to build the many feature enhancements on our roadmap – both those requested by our customers and those that will make Emporia the best Smart Home Energy Management service available.  We maintain a very small development team in order to ensure this service remains free to you.  Their priorities are often adjusted to fix critical customer facing issues or to build features that will have the broadest impact to our customer base. I will definitely pass your feedback on to the team. Rest assured, we have not lost track of this enhancement.

To make sure you get emails when new features are announced, please make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list at http://eepurl.com/gxAMZv

    Thanks!

    Hello @DreamyGo,

We don’t currently make a Smart plug that is compatible with 240V EU/UK style outlets but we are in the process of researching manufacturing partners and are hoping to have one on the market in the next year.

    Thanks!

    Hello Jon,

As long as your two main wires are feed from the same main single live line then this is correct.  The 200A sensors will combine their measure power into one reading on the app.   We do not have a way to ‘merge’ or ‘combine’ sensors, we do have the ability to nest them.  The readings will be separate.  The Vue measures voltage, phase and current to calculate power.  You do not need to use the multiplier for the Gen 2 Vue.

If you have more questions or need further assistance, please reach out to our support team.

Hi @mooky thanks for the feedback!

These changes are definitely reasonable requests and we certainly understand the challenges that our UK customers face when installing our Gen 2 Vue in a Consumer Unit.

Any changes we make to our product would require us to resubmit to UL for certification, retooling of our molds, and dilute our purchasing power due to additional product variants.   All of these factors will increase our costs.

I will pass this feedback onto our head of product development and see what changes if any we can make with our Gen 2 Vue for the UK market place.

    Again, thanks for this feedback!

In the Emporia App today you can search for your Utility based on Location* and then select your plan and our app will apply those rates to your usage in the app.

The Utilities and plans listed in our App are from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) database and many Utilities do not submit any information or update what they do submit.  You can use this link to search the database and see if your plan is listed and/or when it was last updated. We do not currently have a way to enter a custom rate plan in the App.

Hello @derson A 240V appliance connects to two hot legs and a ground (no neutral), so if it pulls 30A, that 30A has to be going in one hot leg and out the other hot leg — there’s nowhere else for it to go (no neutral).  In other words, it draws 30A — the legs do not “add together”.

Hello @stevenc88 As the other forum members have mentioned we do not support alerts on our SMART plugs.   We do have this our roadmap for a future software enhancement.   At this time we do not have a expected release date.
