The CTs around the solar wires are supposed to be in the reversed direction from the CTs on the drawing circuits.
The reason they want the solar off and some loads activated suing setup, it to clearly identify the two phases on all the load wires CTs, without the solar sending power in and confusing things.

scramblerMemberIf you were monitoring the sub panel with CTs on the lines going to it, but now will actually install CTS on everything inside that sub panel to monitor all the lines in it, then you should remove the CTs on the lines feeding the Sub panel, or you would be reporting the consumption twice.
There is also no need to keep them there, as you are getting the Sub panel consumption with the sum of all its loads.

scramblerMemberIs your AC on a dual pole breaker, if so, do you have a CT on each of the Two poles, or are you only monitoring one of the two pole and them multiplying?
If the pate, then the reading will most likely be wrong as I believe the AC may have an unbalanced load on both poles

September 29, 2021 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Real vs Apparent vs Reactive Power & why things dont add up in the app #8002 Report AbusescramblerMemberDo you know for a fact that the load CTS do not account for the power factor? If so from where/ whom?
Because I was told initially that they did measure power factor to measure real power.
scramblerMemberIn the past they have been pretty good at answering, so they may all be busy on the next big update that is supposed to come this summer. We know they are a small team, so I am tempted to cut them some slack 🙂
When you have a real problem, it is always best to also email support directly, they may miss a forum post once in a while, but I always got answer on direct email to support.
scramblerMembernot here
scramblerMemberThe 50A CT has been said by emporia to be capable of measuring bidirectionally, but the SW right now is not doing it.
They mentioned before that they do plan to support bidirectional reading on the 50A CT in the future, and all the solar homeowners hope it will be in the big summer update 🙂

scramblerMemberA line drawing would definitely be a good idea.
Just keep in mind that right now only the 200A CTs report bidirectional data.
The 50A CT for now do not (EE said they will at one point in the future), so if they are on anything that has power flowing in both direction depending on the situation, you wont be able to know that from the reported values.
scramblerMemberI see you want to do the same as me, and yes, Frequency would be good too 🙂
scramblerMemberToo bad
Thank you for the update.
