Hello @Chasnh, We apologize for any confusion that our replies might of caused you. to clear things up….
The Gen 2 Vue accurately measures voltage, phase, and current to calculate power. The in-app energy use is calculated as [real power]/120V. Therefore, when calculating energy usage, we do not account for 240V loads. This causes an overstatement in the Amps on the mains as well as the Balance calculation.
The Emporia development team is working to address this issue as soon as we can.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@audionutty I am so sorry about this poor user experience. I can only imagine the frustration this has caused. Based the most recent email exchange it does appear everything is working with the replacement Gen 2 Vue we sent that was on boarded on the test bench here first.
While all our units are tested before going out for shipment, on rare occasions there are times where the devices have issues connecting to home networks.
We do appreciate your business as well as your patience as we worked through this issue. When we receive the units back from you, we will be doing a thorough breakdown of each device to determine the possible causes of why the Gen 2 Vue failed to connect to your router’s.
Again, we sincerely apologize this poor user experience.
If you have any further questions please let us know.

Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHi @jrlthomp, thanks for the feedback on integration and IFTTT.
Emporia has done extensive research around the steps to integrate with Apple’s HomeKit. The requirements imposed by Apple for our devices to do this required significant change in our software/firmware configurations. Currently this is something Emporia does not have the resources to take on this development effort.
We do have IFTTT on our long term roadmap, but do not have a expected timeline when that will be available.
Again, thank you for your input and please let us know if you have any further questions.

What some customers have done is use a audi0 splitter where both circuits are on the same phase of the panel.
Similar to how we allow for nesting of our SMART plugs under circuits, we are also going to allow for this function of individual circuits.
Thanks for your input!

Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @jj613 we have had no reports of our Gen 2 Vue, or any of our other products, interfering with ZWave devices or causing them to go off-line. The Gen 2 Vue only has a 2.4 ghz chip and bluetooth.
January 30, 2021 at 4:20 pm in reply to: Solar circuit also has loads but always reads negative #6770 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffGood Day @joacchim! You are correct, any circuit labeled solar will report negative flow. The 50 amp sensors are directional, however currently the firmware does not support that functionality. We do plan on updating the firmware in the future to allow the 50 amp sensor to recognize energy flow in both directions.
January 30, 2021 at 4:10 pm in reply to: Allow option under management to disable the on/off feature of the smart plugs #6769 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @currentdraw @Mark @jj613 this feature enhancement is on the development task list and will be released as soon as possible. Thanks for your input everyone!
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @jimtebelskis thanks for pointing this out, I have forwarded on to the development team to correct.
December 24, 2020 at 4:48 pm in reply to: A “workaround” until there is a WEB app #6654 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@adolfo2 thanks for sharing this. Many of our customers already us ‘bluestacks’…its nice to see other options. We are still planning on our own Web App and hope to have that launched sometime next year.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Vidyut this was corrected, you post is up. Sorry about that.

Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@jmonroe at this time we do not plan to integrate with HomeKit. Unfortunately the requirements that are imposed by Apple to allow our SMART plugs to integrate at this time is not something Emporia is ready to implement.

December 24, 2020 at 4:36 pm in reply to: What is the data length and time resolution of readings in the app? #6650 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@ric Werme please see the data retention below. The change you noticed is we are now only storing every 5th second when the device is not active. Once the App is opened you can see 1 second resolution. The Vue can store about ~15 min of data you will see the 1 second history when you open the app.
1 second data is retained for 3 hours*
1 min data is retained for 30 days
1 hour / 1 day / 1 week / 1 month / 1 year data has unlimited retention.
If you’d like an export of your 1 min and 1 hour data, just go to Settings > Export Raw Data to CSV and choose the device you’d like to download the data for.The system will send you an email with a link to download your data.
*When App is open, otherwise will be 5 seconds.
