June 3, 2020 at 3:09 pm in reply to: CT crosstalk/magnetic interference due to other CTs on same conductor #6224 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia Staff
Good Morning @coolemp, we have had several customers install our current sensors near and or on top of others. We have not heard of any reports of crosstalk or interference. As for the recommendation to show net metering, production and consumption on one graph, that is on the roadmap for developement and we hope to have it out later this year.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @connaughtman I’m sorry you are having issues seeing your dollar costs. Can you verify that the rate you put in is a whole cents value. For instance, if you rate per kWh is .129 cents, you would enter 12.9 in the app. If you have further issues or questions please feel free to reach out to us during our support hours.

1 844 EMPORIA (367-6742)Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @jdlyerly as more and more utilities add time of use billing options we know this feature is a must. We are working as quickly as we can to get this software enhancement out. Thanks for your feedback!
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @Boo The Vue is reading this as designed. Your solar generated 33.578 (which we show as negative). We net metered 12.861. This is what you pulled from the utility, on top of your generation. We add this to the solar to the mains because you’re subtracting a negative. So therefore, you used a total of 12.861 (from the utility) + 33.578 (from solar) = 46. 619. When you subtract the Basement (2.053) and the refrigerator (1.051) from your total use of 46.619 = 43.515 (used outside your monitored circuits).
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Travis Shortening the CT sensors will not have a meaningful impact on your readings. A alternative is to leave them in the plastic wrap and pull each cord to the length you need. This is illustrated below.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHi @toehser we are working on a software enhancement that will allow the user to delete their own history. We expect this to be available later this summer. As mentioned above, if you would like us to remove the history please send us an email to support@emporiaenergy.com specificy what you would like removed and we will take care of for you.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHi @jcueva You are correct the multiplier if yu voltage is 137vac, would be 1.14.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@TjTurner thanks for reaching out to us about changing the data logging from $’s to Watts. This can be done by tapping the $ sign on the home/graphs page then selecting the Watts.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@Zim thanks for reaching out to us regarding you nighttime readings from your solar array. This is actually a result of how the Vue measures power. The Vue only measures apparent power since we don’t measure voltage. While your inverters do pull some energy overnight, this draw is overstated since the Vue assumes this current is at 120V. We are working on a software solution to offset this and hope to have something in the coming months. Also, please see the below link that explains this in greater detail.
This post is about the ‘apparent’ watts my inverters consume when shut down of a night.
Thanks for the feedback!
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @wingsfan Customers have successfully installed the Vue outside the electrical panel. As long as the Vue is protected form moisture an outside installation is fine. See below as an example.
it will work fine.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@haveaday Hello Ben, the 50a clamps are calibrated to work with the expansion module and not with the main module. As you have determined if you do use the 50a sensors in the main module you should use a multiplier of .25 ( 200a vs 50a).
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @Looneybird! Welcome to the Emporia Family. You should be able to see the expansion circuits listed separately after selecting the “Export Data to CSV” under the Settings page. The expansion name is listed in parentheses
Marty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHello @Lester our Vue monitoring system only works with AC current. I’m sorry but we do not have the ability to measure DC.
Marty @EmporiaEmporia Staff@hackish You’ve probably seen in these forums that we have APIs on our roadmap in the coming months to help our customers integrate the Vue into their smart home ecosystems. We understand that some people may want to log and analyze their data locally; however, our software, hardware, and business is developed around collection and analytics of energy data in the cloud. Therefore, we currently don’t have any plans to support local logging or data collection.
May 7, 2020 at 7:18 pm in reply to: Show vue firmware revision in UI / Manual firmware updates #6169 Report AbuseMarty @EmporiaEmporia StaffHi @hackish, we will be adding the firmware version to the App in an upcoming release. As for manually adding the firmware update I have forwarded this to the development team for review.
