June 24, 2020 at 3:30 pm in reply to: Relationship between multiplier / amps / watts #6276 Report Abuse
Marty @Emporia
Emporia StaffHello @kkl When you set the multiplier to 2, the app will double every value it is showing (dollars, amps, power, etc). If you choose to show data in amps, the app will double the AMPS to arrive at the correct Wattage, because the app always multiplies everything by 120 V. We are looking at correcting this in future App updates.
Thanks!

Emporia Staff@tr1ple8 thanks for the feedback on the Utility Connect Set up! We have discussed integrating an expansion module with the Vue Utility Connect and this is on our long term development roadmap. We are a small team, with limited resources and right now we don’t have a specific release date. We appreciate your feedback and hope you understand that we’re working very hard to prioritize the many enhancements that have been requested.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@spgrc The Vue does not support alexia integration and this is on our radar for development, we do not have a date when we expect to have this available. We are working as fast as we can on the many feature request and enhancements that have been made.
Thanks for your feedback.
June 19, 2020 at 8:15 pm in reply to: Configuring Main 200A sensors for branch circuits #6265 Report AbuseMarty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@peteman thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are aware of this situation when customers are using the mains on other circuits, or not at all. Our development team has this on our radar, but right now we don’t have a specific release date. We appreciate your feedback and hope you understand that we’re working very hard to prioritize the many enhancements that have been requested.
June 19, 2020 at 7:57 pm in reply to: The extension box installation needs some help #6264 Report AbuseMarty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@wscott Hello Again! We really appreciate the detailed feedback on your user experience while installing two Vue’s with a total of 16 expansion circuits.
- We are adding numbers to our new hardware
- The new install flow will reflect your recommendation; attach first, then label in the app while you connect to individual circuits.
- As mentioned before, the length of the CT cables will be shorted to minimize exceeds
The system performance is not impacted if the Wires are bundled or left loose, it is up to the customer on how they deal with the wire management within their panel.
Again, we really appreciate the feedback and please let us know if you have any other questions or ideas.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@wscott we hear you! We realize the cable length in many cases is overkill. We are making changes in length as well as wrapping in our future manufacturing. Thanks for the feedback!
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@mattclient thanks for your idea to have categories within the circuit breakout. As we expand the capabilities of the Vue adding SMART Plugs and new hardware that will support 16 expansion circuits, categories within the expansion circuits is definitely on the development road map. I have forwarded your example to our development team as well. Thanks!
June 15, 2020 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Provisioning Vue Utility Connect for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE) #6250 Report AbuseMarty @Emporia
Emporia StaffHello @hamajun, currently we are in the process of getting authorized to connect to SDGE SMART meters. We have submitted all the required documentation and are awaiting their response.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia StaffHello, if you only have 1 sensor on the one leg of your system you will be only capturing half of your panel. This will result in readings that are not accurate.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia StaffHello @douglascorella I’m not sure I understand your question, can you provide a picture of your set up so we can determine how it should be installed? You can send it to support@emporiaenergy.com
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@raki1974 sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for the feedback on the graph export, I have forwarded that on to our development team.
You can set the units to Watts, which will display Watts for intervals under an hour and kWh for intervals over an hour. You can also set the units to Amps and scroll through the graphs in the same fashion.
If you are looking for “a report of per hour of kW?” that is what we are providing, A kilowatt hour (kWh) is a measure of how much energy you’re using during that period. If you are trying to size your solar system, the kWh tells you how large your system needs to be.
To calculate the size of your solar photovoltaic system, take your daily kWh energy requirement and divide by your peak sun-hours to get the kW output you will need.
Please let us know if you still have questions.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@marob the day values on the home page, are for current day which starts at 12:00 am local time and ends 11:59:59 pm. The week runs from Monday through Sunday and the readings are for the current week. We do not have a manual on the app, but you can always contact our support team to assist with any questions you might have about app navigation.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@hanksterr7 thanks for the feedback, this feature of being able to move back and forth on the home page is already on the roadmap. We are shooting to have this available later this summer.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia Staff@Karmon Korleski @cmiddlet87 having a graph option for the balance is on our roadmap for development. We hope to have this enhancement out later this year.
Marty @Emporia
Emporia StaffHi @mp-ranger, We hear lots of great things about KASA. Emporia will be working providing an accessible API and many integrations in the coming months that will allow many devices to either connect directly or through IFTTT to your Vue. Thanks for your support!
