June 8, 2022 at 5:31 pm in reply to: is there a way to export *all* plugs and monitors at the same time? #8558 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia Staff
Hello @ljwobker at this time the CSV export works at a device level, and we certainly can appreciate your feedback! I have forwarded your recommendation of a ‘dump all devices’ to the development team for review.
June 8, 2022 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Readings from Smart Plug subtracted from monitored circuit? #8557 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @derson, yes when a plug is nested under a circuit the measured load of that plug is deducted from the circuit on the home page as you illustrated here. When you graph that circuit it will include the total load of the circuit.
June 8, 2022 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Can the Gen2 Vue be installed on a breaker larger than 15A? #8555 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffPlease find the below illustration showing the different phases (L1 & L2 or ‘A’ & ‘B’) of a typical North American Panel. The Gen 2 Vue should have the black and red wires terminated on different phases.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @happyAndrew, I can address your question about our readings.
Net (Usage/Production) – this is what you meter is doing depending on home use and solar production.
Total Usage- this is the total use of the home electricity regardless of source, solar or from the utility.
Balance is the energy reported by the Mains (200A sensors) that is not being monitored by the 50A sensors. Balance is calculated by taking the sum of all the usage reported by the 50A sensors and subtracting that value from the total reported by the Mains during the same period.
Balance = Mains − Circuits (1~16)
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffEmporia SupportEmporia StaffThere aren’t any limits within our app/system that would prevent any number of devices you’d want to connect. (Just double check your router/network doesn’t impose any limits)
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @shaun,
Notifications should still be there in the app (under the Settings menu, upper left corner of app). Let us know at the support channels (chat, email, phone) if you’re still having issues and we can troubleshoot your account specifically.
May 11, 2021 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Balance logic wrong in new 2.5 app with smart plugs #7457 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @matt,
Our team is aware of this issue and we’re working on a fix now. Don’t have a time line of when it might be available (as of right now), but we’re going to get this fixed soon.
May 11, 2021 at 5:21 pm in reply to: V2.5 – Wrong devices displayed when poor connection #7456 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @djwakelee and @scrambler,
You’re both correct. It comes down to a sync/timing issue between the app and cloud. We are pushing a quick fix this afternoon that should reduce the occurrence of this issue in general, and a longer term plan (that’ll include an app update) to show within the app when we’re syncing data (instead of just showing zero’s or the demo account circuit view).
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHey @akballow,
If you’d like to reach out to our support team directly, we can help troubleshoot your device.

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffI think the multi CT is a good idea. We might tinker around the shop for an “official” solution, but here is a post from the community that might help if you’d like to make a go of it: https://community.emporiaenergy.com/topic/gen2-and-2-200-amp-panels/#post-6583
As far as multiple CT’s showing up as a single line item in the App, this will be added in a future release that will allow you to combine/nest multiple CT’s into a single “circuit” within the App (NOTE: this is for a normal CT installation, not related to “splitting” the CT mentioned above). Probably early summer for this update.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffI like these suggestions @msturtz, but unfortunately we don’t have any of the mentioned hardware suggestions on the roadmap. We’ve discussed higher load switches and plugs, but if it happens, it won’t be for a while (focused on the launch of the EV charger this summer, battery systems later in the year and making sure our existing product line is stable and scalable).
We’re continuously working on load management settings and features from within the App. This summer should provide some great insight into the direction we’re heading with this functionality. Big announcements coming.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffWhat’s annoying is the Graph page only shows the Net — with blue for net-use, and green for net-produce. It doesn’t show them separately.
This should be fixed with the future update that will clarify these numbers. Keep a look out early this summer for a much better look to the graph (I’ll post some previews if/when I can).
Emporia SupportEmporia Staff@charlieseabird7-com, you are right about better documentation around supported systems (vs not). I’ve passed on this feedback to the team for better clarification around this issue and we’ll make sure that Delta and Wye systems are clearly specified as being unsupported.
The wye issue specifically (surrounding ampere/watt readings) can’t be solved with software or App settings. There are fundamental differences that the current hardware in the Vue device cannot overcome to display these measurements correctly.
We’ll be releasing an update to the App in the future that will allow for a change of voltage to accurately reflect in ampere readings (as now it only considers 120v when calculating amps).
April 28, 2021 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Advice on how to install Emporia Vue 2 in new panel? #7388 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffAwesome @slowride55. It is very much a fun feeling to watch those numbers change in real time. Hopefully you enjoy the product!
