@chrisg this is great feedback and I will share with the dev team. AIRCON is a big consumer of electricity and agree this would be a nice combination. We do integrate with some thermostats, and are working on adding more as well.
Currently we support Sensi, Ecobee and Honeywell.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @tomfrommo7 at this time we do not support notifications on our Emporia SMART plug. We do have this a planned feature release later this year.
June 22, 2022 at 12:13 am in reply to: Some Circuits not appearing on the home page of the APP #8605 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @derf,
If you are no longer seeing a sensor listed on the Home Screen please make sure the jack is securely seated in the port of the device (they can get jostled loose when things are getting routed and the panel gets closed up). If you can confirm that is it plugged in all the way, try moving it to a different port to see if the issue follows the sensor or if the port was the cause.
Please reach out to our support team if you need further assistance.

June 21, 2022 at 7:42 pm in reply to: Graph of Total Usage (with Solar Net Metering) #8604 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello All,
We are doing our best to build the many feature enhancements on our roadmap – both those requested by our customers and those that will make Emporia the best Smart Home Energy Management service available. We maintain a very small development team in order to ensure this service remains free to you. Their priorities are often adjusted to fix critical customer facing issues or to build features that will have the broadest impact to our customer base. I will definitely pass your feedback on to the team. Rest assured, we have not lost track of this enhancement.
To make sure you get emails when new features are announced, please make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list at http://eepurl.com/gxAMZv
Thanks!

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @DreamyGo,
We don’t currently make a Smart plug that is compatible with 240V EU/UK style outlets but we are in the process of researching manufacturing partners and are hoping to have one on the market in the next year.
Thanks!

June 21, 2022 at 7:32 pm in reply to: Using two Vues on 240v in the UK – 28 circuits #8602 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello Jon,
As long as your two main wires are feed from the same main single live line then this is correct. The 200A sensors will combine their measure power into one reading on the app. We do not have a way to ‘merge’ or ‘combine’ sensors, we do have the ability to nest them. The readings will be separate. The Vue measures voltage, phase and current to calculate power. You do not need to use the multiplier for the Gen 2 Vue.
If you have more questions or need further assistance, please reach out to our support team.

Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @rjjones4314, we are very sorry about this inconvenience and realize it is frustrating. We believe we have identified the issue and corrected it. If you continue to have your plugs fail, please be sure to contact our support team directly and we can investigate further.
Thanks!
Marty
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHi @mooky thanks for the feedback!
These changes are definitely reasonable requests and we certainly understand the challenges that our UK customers face when installing our Gen 2 Vue in a Consumer Unit.
Any changes we make to our product would require us to resubmit to UL for certification, retooling of our molds, and dilute our purchasing power due to additional product variants. All of these factors will increase our costs.
I will pass this feedback onto our head of product development and see what changes if any we can make with our Gen 2 Vue for the UK market place.
Again, thanks for this feedback!
Marty
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffIn the Emporia App today you can search for your Utility based on Location* and then select your plan and our app will apply those rates to your usage in the app.
The Utilities and plans listed in our App are from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) database and many Utilities do not submit any information or update what they do submit. You can use this link to search the database and see if your plan is listed and/or when it was last updated. We do not currently have a way to enter a custom rate plan in the App.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @derson A 240V appliance connects to two hot legs and a ground (no neutral), so if it pulls 30A, that 30A has to be going in one hot leg and out the other hot leg — there’s nowhere else for it to go (no neutral). In other words, it draws 30A — the legs do not “add together”.
June 8, 2022 at 5:51 pm in reply to: Emporia Smart Plugs not available in notifications? #8560 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @stevenc88 As the other forum members have mentioned we do not support alerts on our SMART plugs. We do have this our roadmap for a future software enhancement. At this time we do not have a expected release date.

June 8, 2022 at 5:31 pm in reply to: is there a way to export *all* plugs and monitors at the same time? #8558 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @ljwobker at this time the CSV export works at a device level, and we certainly can appreciate your feedback! I have forwarded your recommendation of a ‘dump all devices’ to the development team for review.
June 8, 2022 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Readings from Smart Plug subtracted from monitored circuit? #8557 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @derson, yes when a plug is nested under a circuit the measured load of that plug is deducted from the circuit on the home page as you illustrated here. When you graph that circuit it will include the total load of the circuit.
June 8, 2022 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Can the Gen2 Vue be installed on a breaker larger than 15A? #8555 Report AbuseEmporia SupportEmporia StaffPlease find the below illustration showing the different phases (L1 & L2 or ‘A’ & ‘B’) of a typical North American Panel. The Gen 2 Vue should have the black and red wires terminated on different phases.
Emporia SupportEmporia StaffHello @happyAndrew, I can address your question about our readings.
Net (Usage/Production) – this is what you meter is doing depending on home use and solar production.
Total Usage- this is the total use of the home electricity regardless of source, solar or from the utility.
Balance is the energy reported by the Mains (200A sensors) that is not being monitored by the 50A sensors. Balance is calculated by taking the sum of all the usage reported by the 50A sensors and subtracting that value from the total reported by the Mains during the same period.
Balance = Mains − Circuits (1~16)
